Insanity is doing the same thing over and over yet expecting different results, which explains why Democrats are once again trying to legalize drug dens across Colorado for hardcore substances like fentanyl, heroin, and meth.
The issue was first introduced to the state legislature five years ago by then state Sen. Brittany Pettersen, now Congresswoman Pettersen, who wanted to open a drug injection site across the street from the state Capitol.
The idea failed miserably then, and nearly every year since as progressive Democrats intent on dragging the state further into the shitter have tried to legalize lethal drugs using this same backdoor method.
This year, it’s state Rep. Elisabeth Epps and Republican-turned-Democrat Kevin Priola who just days after the new session began are pushing HR 24-1028 to legalize drug use centers in any neighborhood city that wants it.
The same effort by the same destructive duo was killed off last year, thankfully, by fellow Democrats.
Page Two over at Complete Colorado reports:
HB 1028 has been assigned to the House Health and Human Services Committee for its first hearing, and includes what is known as the “safety clause,” a declaration that claims the bill is vital to the preservation of “public peace, health or safety” which puts the bill off limits to a citizen-led referendum should it be passed.
Drug injection centers would be a great way to grow the open-air drug market and make it easier to obtain these deadly concoctions.
Then kids can trip under the care of a person trained to stick needles in arms like those guys giving COVID shots at the drug store, then revive them when they almost die of an overdose.
Who wouldn’t want that in their hometown?
Democrats might want to consider cracking down at the border to stop the flow of Fentanyl and heroin into our country. That would be a solid start to prevent overdosing.
