About 12.7 percent of all registered primary voters in Colorado’s 4th District have cast a ballot and among those 34.1 percent are unaffiliated voters, the Secretary of State’s first daily report of the election reads.

There are 538,291 active voters in the 4th District, with 252,546 registered as unaffiliated. Additionally, there are 187,769 Republican, 88,818 Democrat and 9,158 minor party voters.

The Secretary of State’s office did not release voting totals specific to any other congressional district. Election Day is Tuesday, June 25. Polls are open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In the 4th District, the turnout of Douglas County could be a decisive factor in the U.S. House races. The county holds the largest total of registered voters in the district. Douglas County voters have thus far returned 31,854 of the 68,372 ballots cast, with Larimer County having cast 10,874 ballots and Weld County having cast 5,607. No other county in the district has cast more than 3,500 ballots.

Voters in the 4th District will be asked to decide both a special election to serve the completion of ex-Rep. Ken Buck’s House term and to select party nominees for the general election, in addition to other down ballot races.

The Secretary of State indicates there are 3,865,589 registered voters statewide, with 1,876,531 registered as unaffiliated. Additionally, there are 1,008,649 Democrats, 904,654 Republicans and 75,755 minor party voters registered statewide. Among those, about 10.5% of ballots have been cast for a total of 407,968.

A glance at the age breakout of ballots returned indicates stronger voting by advancing age divisions: 10,113 of ages 18-24 to 124,837 of those ages 65-74. Those ages 75-plus have cast 114,127 ballots. Females lead Democrat voting, while males lead Republican voting.
