Three violent incidents that led to four deaths were all reported out of Commerce City this weekend, starting Friday at about 8 p.m.
Police said none of the events were related, and the locations ranged across the city. Joanna Small, Commerce City Police Department public information officer, said the fact that they are isolated incidents makes the weekend all the more unusual.
Small also noted that Commerce City, on average, sees a handful of deadly shootings each year. In 2023, the Commerce City Police Department reported four homicides, according to Colorado Crime Statistics, and six the year before.
