Donald J. Trump is delivering on another promise for Coloradans.
The former President has announced a rally in which he will deliver remarks at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center, 6700 N. Gaylord Rockies Blvd., in Aurora. Trump had repeatedly said he would visit the Front Range community during prior rallies.
“Kamala’s border bloodbath has made every state a border state, leaving Colorado families at the mercy of criminals,” a press release from the Trump-Vance campaign announcing the appearance reads. “The only solution to stop the border crisis is to elect President Trump, who will secure the border, deport dangerous criminals, and Make America Safe Again.”
Trump served as the 45th President of the United States. He narrowly lost a re-election bid to Joe Biden in 2020. Biden chose not to seek re-election, and vice-president Kamala Harris earned the Democratic Party nomination. Some have projected Colorado could be in play for Trump in 2024.
The election is a matchup of opposites, Trump has said during campaign stops, noting his efforts to build the economy, create peace through strength, close the border and create strong cities. He has often been critical of inflation and cost of living under the Biden-Harris administration, commonly asking rally-goers in a Ronald Reagan-esque way if they are better off after nearly four years under Biden-Harris.
His visit Friday is sure to detail the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua’s activity in Aurora and other Front Range locations. Typically, a rally will include Republican candidates with Trump’s endorsement or receiving his endorsement at the rally. Among those are 4th District candidate Lauren Boebert, 8th District candidate Gabe Evans, 3rd District candidate Jeff Hurd, and 5th District candidate Jeff Crank. If all four were to win their elections, it would cause a split in congressional seats in Colorado.
“With approximately 43,000 migrants flooding the neighboring city of Denver since December 2022, many of these migrants have made their way to Aurora, bringing chaos and fear with them,” his campaign statement reads. “Local families have been forced to flee their homes as Tren de Aragua members terrorize apartment complexes with guns, theft and rampant drug activity. Kamala Harris’ open-border policies are turning once-safe communities into nightmares for law-abiding citizens.”
Although some in the media and Gov. Jared Polis attempted to paint such claims as false, they have been confirmed by such residents as City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky and former Regional ICE Director and 6th District U.S. House Republican nominee John Fabbricatore.
“Tren de Aragua gang members infiltrated multiple apartment complexes in Aurora. Aurora police have linked at least 10 individuals to the Tren de Aragua gang, with eight of them already arrested for crimes ranging from shootings to assaults,” the Trump-Vance campaign statement reads. “These violent criminals are destroying the safety and security of Aurora’s apartment complexes, and yet, the Harris-Biden administration continues to allow illegal immigrants to cross the borders unchecked.”
It marks the third rally Trump has held in Colorado. In 2020, he campaigned for then U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner in Colorado Springs, and in 2016, during his first bid for President, Trump visited the Western Slope.
“Denver, just 15 miles away and a sanctuary city, is buckling under the strain of illegal immigrants who have overwhelmed the city’s safety-net hospital,” the Trump-Vance press release reads. “In one year alone, the hospital spent a staggering $10 million on 20,000 visits by illegal migrants. Emergency room visits by Venezuelans in Denver surged by 6,000 percent, further depleting already scarce resources.”
Doors open to the event at 10 a.m. Those wishing to attend the event can apply for tickets HERE.
