Rep. Rick Taggart has been appointed to serve on the Joint Budget Committee as a representative of the Colorado House Republican caucus, House Minority Leader Rose Pugliese announced late Friday.
The position is an appointment, she explained to members of the Republican caucus during Friday morning’s elections. Pugliese had asked all interested persons in the position to contact her immediately.
“Representative Taggart has been an exceptional advocate for the minority caucus and the taxpayers of Colorado,” Pugliese said. “With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience with major global brands and his pivotal role in diversifying the job market in Grand Junction, I have complete confidence in his continued service.”
Taggert joined the Joint Budget Committee during the 74th General Assembly, following Rep. Rod Bockenfeld in the position. The appointment is for the 75th General Assembly, which opens in January.
“It is an honor to continue serving on the Joint Budget Committee,” he said. “I am committed to ensuring that Colorado’s budget reflects fiscal responsibility and serves the best interests of our residents.”
