When Democrats steal political yard signs, are they “protecting our democracy”?

By Russ Andrews | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice

Two local, moderate women are running for the Roaring Fork School District Board with their campaigns focused on the three R’s (reading, writing, and arithmetic). Their opponents are running their campaigns based on DEI (division, entitlement, and illiteracy).

The three R candidates have experienced heavy theft of their yard signs. One of them decided to AirTag some of her signs, and sure enough, last Thursday, she tracked an AirTag to the Basalt Middle School Staff Parking Lot. The alleged thief is a school teacher at the middle school, and was formerly in top leadership of the local teachers’ union.

The three R candidates followed this teacher to her home, then followed her husband (also a teacher in the same school district; let’s call him Heisenberg) to the Thunder River Market, where he allegedly tossed the AirTag into a dumpster. One of the candidates retrieved the AirTag with plastic gloves and is saving it for evidence.

I have questions for this pair:

Do they teach the kids in their classrooms that the ends always justify the means?

Are they above the law because they are Democrats, teachers, or union members?

How does electing the DEI candidates serve their union and their own jobs?

Is the theft of yard signs a tactic that is taught and endorsed by their union?

Besides her husband, Heisenberg (who allegedly attempted to destroy evidence), does this woman have any accomplices?

Is this woman still in possession of the yard signs she allegedly stole, or did she and Heisenberg dump them too in fear of getting caught?

Just asking for a couple of friends!
