I constantly hear how difficult it is for a Republican to win the seat in the 6th Congressional District in Colorado. It’s been a tough battle for many years, but this seat was held by Republican leadership since 1983, represented by former Congressmen Daniel Schaefer, Tom Tancredo, and Mike Coffman.
The tide turned when Democrats, determined to take this seat, committed significant financial resources to Jason Crow’s campaign, spending more than $5 million. At that time, it became one of Colorado’s most expensive races, with nearly $23 million being spent by both candidates and outside groups.
In 2018, under mounting pressure and increased Democratic funding, the Republican Party withdrew financial support, with the National Republican Congressional Committee pulling out just before the election. Consequently, the Democrats won the seat, and though we have put up great candidates since, Republicans as a whole have not fought hard to regain it.
The new 6th District leans left politically and covers areas from Watkins in the east to Ken Caryl Ranch in the west, including portions of Jefferson, Douglas, and a large part of Arapahoe counties. Its boundaries stretch from C-470 in the south to Adams and Denver Counties in the north. The political makeup is roughly 30% Republican, 32% Democrat, and 36% unaffiliated.
With the proper support and buy in, we could win this seat back.
Understanding the odds and the challenges, I entered this race knowing fundraising would be difficult and that I wouldn’t have a financial advantage. Yet, I also knew this district has many residents who are in the middle politically, understand the stakes, feel the economic pressures, worry about crime, and want a better future for their children. I firmly believe this seat can be won with a candidate who genuinely connects with the people, listens to their concerns, and addresses their needs.
When Jason Crow first campaigned, he portrayed himself as a moderate willing to work across party lines. However, his actions since arriving in Washington, D.C., reveal otherwise. Crow has consistently aligned with Nancy Pelosi and the far-left agenda, voting with Nancy Pelosi and Hakeem Jeffries nearly 100% of the time. He hasn’t worked with the other side and has become a leader for the Democratic Party, not by exemplifying leadership qualities, but by being a tool at the hand of party leadership. Despite his claims of moderation, his voting record shows he is further left than some members of the progressive “Squad” like AOC and Rashida Tlaib.
I believe it’s time for new leadership in CD-6, one that understands and addresses your real concerns. With a background in federal law enforcement, including the Federal Protective Service and Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), I bring a deep understanding of the issues at the heart of our community. Since moving to Aurora, Colo., in 1998, I’ve raised my family here and remained committed to making this district a safe and thriving place to live.
Though I served in the military, I don’t claim to be a combat veteran. After high school in 1991, I joined the U.S. Air Force, where my duty was as a security police/security forces airman. I served in Germany and Saudi Arabia in 1994; later, I was stateside in Cheyenne, Wyo. I entered federal law enforcement in 1996 and spent years protecting our nation. Throughout my career, I’ve lived in various places for short periods due to federal law enforcement assignments, however, I always maintained a home in Aurora, with my family deeply rooted in this community. I care passionately about our district and want to see Colorado reclaim its reputation as a safe and secure state, blending the mystique of the Wild West with modern comforts.
I am committed to fighting for this community. Defeating Jason Crow will require effort, financial support, and time, but I am giving this campaign my all because it’s worth fighting for our community’s future.
Jason Crow’s voting record speaks volumes. He voted against the Laken Riley Act, the HALT Fentanyl Act, and policies opposing a nuclear Islamic Republic of Iran. He stood against condemning anti-Semitism on university campuses and voted against ensuring no funds are sent to Iran for terrorism. He also opposed the SAVE Act to secure elections. Crow’s disdain for ICE and immigration detention centers, along with his reluctance to deport criminal illegal aliens, reveals his priorities – pandering to the organizations and the individuals that fill his campaign coffers.
According to the Heritage Action for America, Crow has a conservative score of just 2%, significantly lower than even the average Democrat’s 10%. His rating is below that of progressive representatives like AOC and Cori Bush. It is clear that Jason Crow does not represent the diverse views and needs of CD-6 residents.
It’s time to elect someone who truly understands and prioritizes our community’s needs. Colorado deserves better. We need leadership that will fight against the far-left agenda and work for everyone. This November, vote for change. Vote for a safer, stronger Colorado. Vote John Fabbricatore for Congress.
