John Fabbricatore and Steven Monahan were announced Wednesday as the leaders in the launch of Strong Advocates For Enforcement in Colorado (SAFE Colorado), aimed at enhancing public safety across the state by fostering collaboration among local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Fabbricatore previously served as an ICE field director in Colorado and Wyoming, and was the 2024 Republican nominee to the 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House. He is a visiting fellow of the Heritage Foundation.

Steven Monahan was the 2022 Republican nominee to the 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House.

The mission of SAFE Colorado is “to protect communities by prioritizing safety over political agendas and holding leaders accountable for ensuring the security and well-being of every U.S. citizen and lawful resident of Colorado,” a press statement reads.

Also Wednesday, Fabbricatore testified during a congressional hearing on ‘Restoring Immigration Enforcement in America,’ during which he identified measures that would combat the illegal immigration crisis. He has committed to working tirelessly to ensure Colorado is secure, the statement reads.

“When we are able to join together and cooperate, we only make the community safer,” Fabbricatore said during the U.S. House Judiciary Committee hearing. “Sanctuary cities do not protect American citizens, they only protect illegal aliens.”

SAFE Colorado is “dedicated to fostering a safer Colorado by championing the seamless coordination of local, state and federal law enforcement,” the statement reads.

The organization will prioritize protection of communities, holding leaders accountable to ensure “the safety and well-being of every U.S. citizen and lawful resident of Colorado,” the statement continues, creating safe communities, with justice and public safety as priorities.

“Our families, friends, and neighbors deserve to live in a state where safety is paramount,” Monahan of SAFE Colorado. “By encouraging coordination among all levels of law enforcement, we can address crime more effectively, ensure justice is served, and build trust within our communities. SAFE Colorado is here to make that vision a reality.”

The organization’s initiatives include:

  • Advocating for policies that enable stronger collaboration between law enforcement agencies at all levels.
  • Educating the public about the importance of coordinated efforts to combat crime and protect communities.
  • Holding accountable activist-politicians for decisions that impact public safety.

In a call to action, the press statement invites “all Americans to join the movement to protect our citizens and create a model for safer states nationwide. Whether through volunteering, advocacy or donations, every contribution matters in the fight for a secure and just Colorado.”
