Tina Peters, formerly the Mesa County clerk and recorder, rose to notoriety for her stance on election integrity, after facilitating a forensic image of Mesa County’s election management system prior to a ‘Trusted Build’ by the Colorado secretary of state.
In October 2024, Tina Peters was handed a nine-year prison sentence following a conviction on seven charges, including three felonies, for attempting to influence a public servant, one for conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation and misdemeanors for official misconduct, duty violation and noncompliance with the secretary of state.
Peters is currently serving her sentence in the Larimer County jail.
Her backers are uniting for a show of support, hoping for justice in Peters’ legal fight.
On Saturday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the “March for Tina Peters” will unite supporters at Mountain View Community Church, 2330 E. Prospect Rd. in Fort Collins.
The event features a 11-1 p.m. march along Timberline and Prospect, followed by a 1 p.m. program with prayer and speakers. A prayer march around the Larimer County jail will cap the day, starting around 2 p.m.
Tina Peters is appealing her conviction, claiming the Supremacy Clause protects her actions under federal election laws from state charges. Her legal team is pushing for bond during the appeal, arguing the court blocked key evidence, including expert reports and testimony on election security. She’s also challenging the legal process, asserting that her First Amendment rights and due process were violated, seeking relief that results in overturning her nine-year sentence.
Patriots, election integrity advocates and community members seeking justice for Peters are being encouraged to rally, bring signs and water bottles, folding chairs, snacks and layered clothing.
Volunteers wearing yellow ribbons will be present to assist with check-ins, parking and ushering.
