Political insider fills state senate vacancy

By  Brandon Wark | Free State Colorado Colorado Democrats just appointed a political insider to the State Senate! Sonya Jaquez Lewis resigned in disgrace after allegations and an ethics investigation into her mistreatment of Legislative Aides. To make matters worse, it seems that Lewis penned a fake letter of support to help her case. Vacancy committee appointments have led to some of the most extreme legislators serving in the State Legislature. And by all accounts, it looks like Katie Wallace is going to be another example. Video: Has a Venezuelan gang taken over an Aurora apartment complex?

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Has an apartment management company in Aurora failed to maintain their property, as one media outlet reported, or has the Venezuelan gang, Tren de Argua, taken over the property by force? That's the focus of an interview by Free State Colorado's Brandon Wark with Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky. In the video, Jurinsky shares her perspective on the truth of whether the property is owned by a slum lord, or whether it has been taken over by Tren de Argua, as John Tiegen supports in this post. Video: The good initiatives on the ballot to protect Colorado’s elections

By BRANDON WARK | Free State Colorado This November, Colorado voters will have the opportunity to fundamentally change election law in the state. From ranked-choice voting, to an all-candidate primary election, there will be initiatives to upend the electoral system. But Linda Bissett and her "Good Initiative Team" are fighting back. They are collecting signatures for their three competing ballot measures. Linda and team want to prohibit ranked-choice voting, preserve ballot access through party assemblies, and close Colorado’s open primaries. WATCH THE VIDEO AT FREE STATE COLORADO

Video: RMGO’s Ian Escalante discusses the Colorado Legislature’s 2024 anti-gun bills

By BRANDON WARK | Free State Colorado Colorado’s anti-gun legislators are attempting some of the most egregious restrictions on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms that Colorado has ever seen. From outright gun bans, to expensive concealed carry requirements, these politicians have no regard for law-abiding gun owners or the Second Amendment. Fortunately, Colorado has a Pro-Gun Advocacy Organization called Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (also known as RMGO). RMGO is effectively fighting back through lawsuits, lobbying, and electoral work. Ian Escalante is the Director of Operations for RMGO. His passion for Liberty is matched by his knowledge of legislation. In this video, Ian provides a detailed look at all of the anti-gun bills that have been filed so far, and explains what kind...

Interview: Lori Saine, Weld County Commissioner on Standing up for Liberty

SOURCE: FREE STATE COLORADO Lori Saine isn't afraid to stand up for liberty, even if it means she has to stand alone. As a State Legislator, she served for eight years in the House, and now she serves as a Weld County Commissioner. Her voting record in the House earned her an A+ rating from Principles of Liberty, an A from the Colorado Liberty Scorecard, and House Champion from the Colorado Union of Taxpayers. Serving as Commissioner, Lori has been a voice for taxpayers, gun owners and entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, Lori's fellow Weld County Commissioners haven't always supported her principled approach to governance. Even with opposition from her own party, Lori refuses to back down, and remains a staunch defender of Pro-Liberty Principles. In this interview, Lori ...
