Despite spending eight years as Barack Obama’s vice president, Joe Biden is more regularly in contact with former President Bill Clinton than he is with Obama.
In a Washington Post report, aides shared that while Biden does speak to Obama regularly, he is in closer contact with Clinton, as the two share a similar “outgoing” style.
“Beneath the surface, [Biden and Obama’s relationship] has had very serious ups and downs over time, both personal and especially political,” Gabriel Debenedetti, author of The Long Alliance: The Imperfect Union of Joe Biden and Barack Obama, said in an interview with Time magazine.
