Colorado delegate witnesses 3 a.m. shooting inside Southside restaurant near DNC

One person was shot and injured after someone opened fire at a South Loop diner where Democratic National Convention delegates from Colorado were eating.

The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. Friday at the White Palace Grill, located at 1159 South Canal St.

Police said a 42-year-old man was inside the diner and as he was walking out, another man fired gunshots. The victim was shot multiple times and the offender fled the scene.
