Trump Delivers: Over 2 Million Jobs Gained by U.S.-Born Workers in 2025

Remember how the experts predicted doom and gloom for America’s economy? Those predictions have aged about as well as milk left on the kitchen counter in July. Instead, Americans are seeing something remarkable happening in job numbers across the country. Paychecks are growing and help wanted signs are popping up everywhere you look.

What’s behind this amazing turnaround? While the usual talking heads on TV scratch their heads, everyday Americans are noticing a big shift in who’s getting hired these days. The economy isn’t just growing – it’s growing differently than before, and many families are feeling the positive effects firsthand.

The secret to this economic transformation? President Trump’s tough border policies are working exactly as promised. New numbers from the Labor Department show American-born workers are the big winners in today’s job market, while foreign-born employment has taken a nosedive.

“The Labor Department’s jobs report for the month of June showed that the number of foreign-born workers declined by 348,000 from May — while the number of foreign-born workers has declined by more than 543,000 jobs since January. By contrast, the number of U.S.-born workers increased by 830,000 from May to June, and is also over 2 million higher than when the second Trump administration began in January.”

This dramatic shift is exactly what President Trump promised on the campaign trail. When he said American workers would come first, he meant it. The White House is proudly highlighting these numbers as proof that their policies are working.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t mince words about the success: “American-born workers have accounted for ALL of the job gains since President Trump took office and wages continue to rise.”

These numbers tell a completely different story than what we saw during the Biden years. Under the previous administration, foreign-born workers gained over a million jobs while American citizens watched from the sidelines.

The contrast couldn’t be clearer. Under Biden in 2024, foreign-born workers gained 1.025 million jobs. Under Trump in 2025, they’ve lost 543,000 jobs – and those opportunities have gone to American citizens instead.

What changed? The Trump administration has cracked down hard on illegal immigration, ramping up deportations and workplace enforcement. Companies that once relied on unauthorized workers are now hiring Americans instead. This direct connection between border security and American prosperity is undeniable.

Not everyone is celebrating these changes. Some industries like construction, farming, and food processing are scrambling to find workers. The Bloomberg report notes that unauthorized immigrants make up about 5% of the workforce, with higher numbers in certain fields.

But these growing pains are part of a necessary adjustment. For too long, certain businesses built their models around cheap, unauthorized labor – like a house built on sand. Now they’re adapting by improving working conditions and raising wages to attract American workers.
