DENVER (KDVR) — New video has been released showing two suspects inside a stolen shuttle bus that allegedly hit an Idaho Springs police vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
FOX31 reported on the incident on Oct. 10 and on Tuesday, the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office released new video and photos of the alleged driver behind the wheel of the stolen Clear Creek County Roundabout shuttle bus.
Authorities are now asking the public for help identifying the driver, who the sheriff’s office said struck a patrol vehicle on Interstate 70, and later drove through the scene of a different crash.
Video shows the moment the shuttle bus narrowly missed first responders on the scene from the driver’s point-of-view. This happened on eastbound I-70 near mile marker 241 in Idaho Springs, where the express and left lanes were closed for the crash response.
It sounds like the driver said “there’s pigs right here,” before he apparently swerves out of the lane of moving traffic and in between a fire engine and patrol vehicles in the left lanes. First responders are seen dodging the shuttle bus and jumping the concrete barrier to get out of the way.
According to the sheriff’s office, the footage released was from the shuttle bus’s cameras, showing two suspects, a man and a woman, inside the vehicle. In the video, the driver can be heard talking and saying what sounds like “this is the perfect disguise too.”
