Six Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday urged United States military service members to “refuse illegal orders,” in a video that appeared to criticize the Trump administration’s crime and illegal immigration crackdowns.
Michigan Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin posted the one-and-a-half minute video, which also featured five other Democratic lawmakers who have military and intelligence backgrounds, on X.
“We want to speak directly to members of the Military and the Intelligence Community,” Slotkin wrote in the post. “The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution. Don’t give up the ship.”
