Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) endorsed former President Donald Trump on Monday, another snub to former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley from a Republican ally in her home state.
“Today, I’m endorsing Donald J. Trump for president,” Mace said in a statement. “I don’t see eye to eye perfectly with any candidate. And until now, I’ve stayed out of it. But the time has come to unite behind our nominee.”
Trump endorsed Mace’s primary challenger in 2022, while Haley offered her own endorsement to the South Carolina Republican, who won reelection.
Mace has offered criticism of Trump in the past, drawing his ire. But in the last year, she appeared to show flashes of sympathy and support for the former president.
Haley’s campaign did not provide comment to the Washington Examiner.
