Former Colorado GOP Chairman Ken Buck Crosses Party Lines to Endorse Phil Weiser

Former Republican U.S. Rep. Ken Buck crossed party lines Wednesday to endorse Democratic Attorney General Phil Weiser’s campaign for Colorado governor.

“I’m supporting Phil because I think he has the experience and he has the character to be a good governor,” Buck told Colorado Politics in an interview.

Weiser is running against Republican nominee Victor Marx in the race to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Jared Polis.

Former Republican U.S. Rep. Greg Lopez, who left the GOP earlier this year to run as an unaffiliated candidate, is one of five independent and third-party candidates on the gubernatorial ballot this year.
