"That is how we win the 8th Congressional District." When his opponent, Janak Joshi, drifted hard right during the Republican Rumble here at the Grizzly Rose, Evans seemed to moderate on issues that will play to a general election audience against an incumbent Democrat. "I'm literally all in to go out, fight and win, to flip this seat," Evans said, closing a debate with Joshi where he drew a major difference in intelligence policy and the abortion issue. Co-hosted by the Republican Women of Weld and the Lincoln Club of Colorado, the "Republican Rumble with a Twist" will be from 11 a.m. to about 5 p.m. today, June 1, at the Grizzly Rose, 5450 North S. Valley Hwy in Denver. Leading off the debates will be the 8th District Republican Primary at noon, featuring Gabe Evans and Janak Joshi. One pollster termed the 4th District "MAGA Country", for the area's affinity toward the 45th President of the United States. In rural areas of the district, semi-truck trailers in numerous communities are retired to fields and painted in tribute to Donald Trump, and it is not uncommon to see a pop-up corner market of MAGA merchandise for sale on a weekend near busy intersections in places like Fort Morgan. By BRIAN PORTER / Rocky Mountain Voice Three candidates have been disqualified and a fourth has withdrawn from the state's primary ballot, the Secretary of State's elections office announced Friday. Luis A. Moy and Robert Tate, both Republicans, have been disqualified for failure to submit a candidate affidavit and personal financial disclosure as required by law. Moy was vying for the State House District 61 seat and Tate was vying for the State Senate District 29 seat. Charles Alvarado, a Democrat, was similarly disqualified for failure to submit a personal financial disclosure. He was vying for the State House District 63 seat. By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Three percent of all state legislators graded an A and 87% of legislators had a failing grade in the Liberty Scorecard Colorado ratings released Friday following the close of the 74th General Assembly. The annual study found the three lawmakers most strongly adhering to the principles of the U.S. Constitution through their legislation and votes are the same from last session, with a different order. Rep. Ken DeGraff, an El Paso County Republican ranked second last session, earned an A-grade and topped the list with a score of 95 this session. Rep. The death count once was similar to the capacity of a high school classroom each week, marking the third largest cause of pediatric deaths behind firearm-related injuries and motor vehicle collisions, a report by UCLA Health reads. It has now grown beyond that analogy. The drug often kills those experimenting with it for the first time, with the Centers for Disease Control finding 86 percent of those adolescents dying of a fentanyl overdose had not previously experienced a drug overdose, according to a report in The Free Press.
