Since such things might be new to a lot of people out here; I thought it worth taking a minute to hit the high notes on Metro Districts. Before anything else, let me take a second to say that nothing of what I write below should be taken as an accusation against anyone in Sage Pointe, nor as any sort of alarm call. Metro Districts have been and can be problematic, but they don't have to be as long as you're informed. Teamsters union launches historic nationwide strike against Amazon: ‘Paying the price’

Amazon Teamsters at seven facilities in Skokie, Illinois; New York City, Atlanta, San Francisco and Southern California are participating in the "largest strike" against the trillion-dollar company in American history, the union said in a news release. Workers at other facilities are prepared to join them. Though Teamsters says it represents about 10,000 people across ten Amazon facilities in the U.S., the company doesn't recognize workers' affiliation with the union. Tina Peters has been transferred from Mesa County to Larimer County jail

By Jen Schumann | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice Former Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters has been transferred from the Mesa County jail to the Larimer County jail.  According to Larimer County booking information, Peters was processed as an inmate into the Larimer County jail at 11:53 a.m.  Wednesday. No other booking information was provided. On Oct. 3, 2024, Judge Matthew Barrett sentenced Peters to a 9-year prison sentence after she was previously found guilty of three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, official misconduct, violation of duty and failure to comply with an order by the secretary of state.  She was immediately taken into custody following sentencing. Police believe most of the suspects are Venezuelan migrants but they are unsure if they're part of a notorious gang. This ordinance would include bans on e-cigarettes, menthol cigarettes, vapes and other flavored nicotine and tobacco products.   It was a lengthy meeting for council members, as they had 34 community members signed up to speak on both sides of the aisle. Castle Rock unanimously OK’s measure expressing support for Trump’s immigration policies

By Jesse Sarles | CBS Colorado The Castle Rock Town Council on Tuesday approved a measure expressing support for President-elect Donald Trump's immigration policies. The measure also expresses a willingness to lawfully cooperate with federal immigration officials in implementing policies in the Colorado municipality. All of the council at the evening meeting voted in favor of the resolution, except for one council person who abstained. Right before the vote, the council members referenced the violence that has been happening in Aurora at an apartment complex.
