Recount ordered in Colorado House District 16, expected soon in District 19

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice The first of two election recounts critical to Republicans eliminating the Democratic supermajority in the Colorado House has been ordered by Secretary of State Jena Griswold's office. After the tabulation of 41,276 votes in El Paso County's state House District 16 race, Republican Rebecca Keltie was six votes ahead of Democrat Stephanie Vigil, by a margin of 2 one-hundredths of 1 percent of the vote, or 0.02%. State law requires a recount of an election with a margin of victory between two candidates of half of 1 percent or less, or a 0.5% margin. "Pursuant to Colorado law, the percentage of vote totals between the candidates requires the secretary of state to order a recount," the order from Griswold's office reads. The process calls for a ...

Bill Gates, Anthony Fauci responsible for ‘side effects, lying and ruining economies,’ Joe Rogan says

By Meredith Evans| Evie Joe Rogan slams Bill Gates and Dr. Anthony Fauci in a new episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. Joined by independent researchers Jimmy Corsetti (Bright Insight) and Dan Richards (DeDunking the Past), the host didn't hold back in criticizing “experts” Gates and Dr. Fauci for what he described as a profit grab. Rogan called the “health authorities” during the pandemic “puppets.” Rogan accused Gates of hypocrisy, referencing the Microsoft founder’s advocacy for COVID-19 vaccines. “Bill Gates, who’s on television telling everybody, ‘Get the vaccine, you won’t get COVID,’ and then afterward it turns out—it didn’t work. He’d already unloaded all of his stock,” Rogan said. He alleged that Gates had profited from vaccine investmen...

Walmart rolls back DEI policies, becoming latest U.S. firm to join growing trend

By Breck Dumas , Daniella Genovese | Fox Business Walmart is making a slate of changes to its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, becoming the latest in a growing list of major corporations to halt the so-called "woke" initiatives. Anti-woke activist and filmmaker Robby Starbuck, who has been leading a campaign exposing major corporations' woke policies, said on X on Monday that he warned Walmart executives last week that he would be doing a story on "wokeness" at the retail giant. "Instead," Starbuck shared, "we had productive conversations to find solutions." READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX BUSINESS

Americans are both angry at the establishment and cautiously hopeful for the future if Elon Musk steps in to liberate more media platforms.  Recent reports suggest Comcast is preparing to sell MSNBC after increasingly dramatic ratings casualties post-election. Elon Musk, who has become infamous for purchasing Twitter in 2022, is making hay of the situation by joking about buying MSNBC. READ THE FULL STORY AT MIG REPORTS

Tom Homan responds to Denver mayor: ‘He’s willing to go to jail, I’m willing to put him in jail’

By  Hanna Panreck | Fox News Democratic Denver Mayor Mike Johnston recently said he was prepared to go to jail over his opposition to the Trump administration's border policies. The president-elect's pick to be the next border czar responded that he's willing to put him there. "You are absolutely breaking the law," Tom Homan, Trump's "border czar" designate, told Fox News' Sean Hannity. "All he has to do is look at Arizona v. U.S. and he would see he's breaking the law. But, look, me and the Denver mayor, we agree on one thing. He’s willing to go to jail, I’m willing to put him in jail." The Denver mayor has also predicted a "Tiananmen Square moment" if the administration carries out its plans.  READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

Biden admin’s ‘woke’ housing agenda faces rude awakening under Republican control

By M.D. Kittle | The Federalist ‘DEI programs masquerade as fairness while instead fostering division, inefficiency, and discrimination,’ said Rep. Michael Cloud. As Rep. Bob Good departs Congress, he’s taking on the disaster that is DEI one more time.  The Virginia Republican recently introduced two bills aimed at dealing with the escalating cost and shortage of housing while combating the discriminatory practices of the so-called Diversity, Equity and Inclusion agenda in public housing policy. Canada, Mexico to face 25% tariffs, China 10% until borders are secure, drug importation stops, Trump says

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice President-elect Donald Trump has put Canada and Mexico on notice -- close their borders with the United States or face the penalty of tariffs on all imports into the United States. Crime and drugs "at levels never seen before" are pouring through porous borders to the north and south of the United States, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Monday. As one of his "many first Executive Orders," Trump pledged to charge Canada and Mexico 25% tariffs. "This tariff will remain in effect until such time as drugs, in particular fentanyl, and all illegal aliens stop this invasion of our country!," Trump wrote. "Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem." Until they do, Trump wrote, "it is...

Schumann: Colorado Springs has ‘a hometown Jussie Smollett situation’. A look at a mayor’s alleged deception

By Jen Schumann | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Colorado Springs is dealing with “a hometown Jussie Smollett situation.”  That's how Todd Watkins, vice chair of the El Paso County Republican Party, described the hate crime hoax involving Mayor Yemi Mobolade. Watkins, a former U.S. Customs and Border Protection official and U.S. Army analyst, says political violence in El Paso County has risen during the last nine years. His remarks highlight the seriousness of the allegations of an alleged hate crime that may have impacted the outcome of a municipal election. Three individuals have been indicted for their roles in the hoax. But the DOJ has reportedly declined to charge Mobolade despite evidence of false statements. The FBI found that Mobolade allegedly denied contact wi...

Kalam: Denver Mayor Mike Johnston’s insurrection rhetoric

By Ahnaf Kalam | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice In the wake of the recent electoral landslide — a decisive repudiation of unchecked illegal immigration and the catastrophic security failures at America’s borders — one might have expected local leaders to reconsider their stances on sanctuary city policies. Yet, in Denver, Mayor Mike Johnston has chosen defiance over reason, doubling down on policies that disregard the will of his constituents and the authority of the federal government. His response to President-elect Trump’s nomination of Tom Homan as "border czar" is nothing short of insurrectionary. Mayor Johnston took to social media to unveil a bold, but deeply troubling plan to block any federal efforts to deport illegal immigrants in Denver. He went so far as to cla...
