Tropical Storm Milton hits hurricane force as it bears down on Florida with mass evacuations predicted

By Simon Kent | Breitbart Storm Milton strengthened from a major tropical disturbance into a Category 3 hurricane early on Monday morning, increasing the threat to Florida’s west coast, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in a special alert. The state is now gearing up for what could be its biggest mass evacuation in seven years as the rain-sodden behemoth heads toward major population centers including Tampa and Orlando. “While it is too soon to specify the exact magnitude and location of the greatest impacts, there is an increasing risk of life-threatening storm surge and damaging winds for portions of the west coast of the Florida Peninsula beginning Tuesday night or early Wednesday,” the NHC said in a forecast discussion. By Kristina Wong | Breitbart Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday touted that her and President Joe Biden’s administration was sending $157 million in humanitarian aid to civilians in Lebanon, after announcing just $750 for the immediate needs of individual Hurricane Helene victims. She even added the $157 million infusion would bring the total U.S. support to Lebanon in one year to “over $385 million.” For perspective, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on Oct. 4 it has provided $45 million in disaster relief thus far: $23 million to people in Florida; $17 million to North Carolina; and $4.5 million to South Carolina. 190+ people dead in aftermath of Hurricane Helene

By Amy Furr | Breitbart Nearly 200 people are reportedly dead after Hurricane Helene slammed the southeast portion of the United States. NBC News reported on Thursday that 194 people lost their lives amid the destruction the storm brought, with over half of the deaths occurring in North Carolina. “Hundreds are still missing and officials have reported difficulties in identifying some of the dead,” the outlet said. J.D. Vance tops Tim Walz in CBS post-debate exit polling, but 17% say it was a tie

By Breck Dumas  | Breitbart Sen. J.D. Vance’s (R-OH) regard for the facts appeared to help him outperform the sugar-coated whimsy of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) during Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate. At least, that is the opinion of those polled immediately after the showdown by CBS News, which hosted the forum. According to the CBS poll as seen by the Hill, 42 percent of debate watchers say Vance, a Yale-trained lawyer, won the debate. Walz trails closely behind with 41 percent of viewers saying he was victorious. About 17 percent said it was a tie. Tim Walz.  In a letter accompanying the subpoena released on Thursday, Comer said the House Oversight and Accountability Committee received information from a whistleblower about “serious concern among Department of Homeland Security (DHS) personnel regarding a longstanding connection between” Tim Walz and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
