More Democratic lawmakers are visiting El Salvador on Abrego Garcia’s behalf

By AP | Breitbart Four House Democratic lawmakers have traveled to El Salvador to call attention to the plight of a man the Trump administration deported to a Salvadoran prison and has refused to help return — even after the Supreme Court ruled that it was the government’s duty to do so. Reps. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona, Maxine Dexter of Oregon, Maxwell Frost of Florida and Robert Garcia of California arrived in the Central American nation on Sunday to investigate the condition of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who had lived in the United States for more than a decade. The Trump administration deported him, a move that administration officials have said in court filings was erroneous. But despite a Supreme Court ordering the Trump administration to help facilitate Abrego Garcia’s retu...

Trump will walk away from Ukraine talks in days if Moscow and Kyiv aren’t serious about peace, warns Rubio

By Oliver JJ Lane | Breitbart The United States will do whatever it takes to get peace in Ukraine as long as “either side or both” actually engage in the process, but as things stand now America will “move on” within days if there are no signs of progress. Neither Ukraine or Russia are engaging in the peace process properly, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested on Friday morning as he boarded his flight back to the U.S., saying if there isn’t a breakthrough in the peace process within days the United States would disengage. The United States is not willing to attend endless unproductive meetings, and meetings for the sake of having meetings, Rubio told press on the tarmac in barely-veiled criticism of both Moscow and Kyiv. He said: “We came here yesterday to begin to talk abou...

Angel moms torch Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen for visiting El Salvador for illegal alien after ignoring their daughters’ murders in Maryland

By John Binder | Breitbart Angel Moms Patty Morin and Tammy Nobles are ripping Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) for traveling to El Salvador in an attempt to visit a deported illegal alien, accused of MS-13 gang membership and domestic violence, after ignoring the murders of their daughters in Maryland — 37-year-old Rachel Morin and 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton — both at the hands of illegal aliens. This week, Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador in the hopes of visiting 29-year-old Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien who crossed the United States-Mexico border in 2011 and has since been accused of being an MS-13 gang member, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Van Hollen and other Democrats are demanding that El Salvador officials fly Abrego Garcia back to th...

Rare Earth minerals affected by China export ban used in EVs, green energy, and military tech

By John Hayward | Breitbart China has restricted the export of several crucial rare earth minerals to the United States in response to President Donald Trump’s tariff increases. The restrictions come up short of a total ban, but they will probably slow the delivery of minerals needed by defense, energy, and electronics companies. The term “rare earth minerals” is sometimes used broadly to refer to all valuable or unusual minerals, but in fact it refers to a specific list of 17 metallic elements. Fifteen of them are lanthanides, meaning they occupy a specific region of the periodic table of the elements that begins with lanthanum (atomic number 57). The lanthanides all share similar atomic structure and chemical behavior, so the grouping is not arbitrary. READ THE FULL STORY AT...

Desperate China pleads with E.U. to ‘Jointly resist unilateral bullying’ of Trump tariffs

By Simon Kent | Breitbart An increasingly desperate China on Friday pleaded with European Union (E.U.) members to join with Beijing in resisting “unilateral bullying” posed by punitive tariffs introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Chinese President Xi Jinping made the call as he met Spanish Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. State news agency Xinhua said Xi had stressed the need for cooperation between the bloc and China in weathering Beijing’s mounting trade war with Washington. It came 24-hours after Australia rejected the same plea from Beijing, as Breitbart London reported. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Promises made, promises kept: Consumer prices fell in March, defying predictions of tarifflation

By John Carney | Breitbart U.S. consumer prices fell in March, pushed down by a decline in the price of goods and defying predictions that President Trump’s tariff plans would push up prices. This was the first drop in consumer prices in nearly three years and only the second decline since inflation accelerated under Joe Biden to the worst rates in decades. The consumer price index fell by 0.1 percent compared with the previous month after climbing each month since July 2022. Economists had forecast prices would rise by 0.1 percent. Core consumer prices, a measure that excludes volatile food and energy prices, rose by 0.1 percent, far less than the 0.3 percent expected. This was the smallest rise in core prices since President Trump’s first term as president. READ THE FULL STOR...

Stocks soar after strong demand in treasury auction and tariff pause

By John Carney | Breitbart Wall Street surged Wednesday after a blowout 10-year Treasury auction helped calm fears of a financial crisis, delivering a sharp rebuke to doomsayers who predicted foreign investors would flee American assets in protest of President Donald Trump’s trade agenda, and President Trump announced a pause in tariff hikes on some countries. The Dow jumped 5.9 percent, the S&P 500 rose 7.3 percent, and the Nasdaq soared 8.9 percent, capping a dramatic rebound from a week of steep losses triggered by spiking bond yields and escalating global tariffs. The spark? A remarkably strong $39 billion auction of 10-year Treasury notes. The bonds sold at a yield of 4.435 percent, lower than expected, with a significant stop-through—a sign that investors were eager to b...

China strikes back at Trump with immediate 84% tariffs on U.S. goods

By Simon Kent | Breitbart China is slapping 84 percent tariffs on U.S. goods from Thursday, ramping the impost up from the 34 percent as previously announced, its finance ministry said on Wednesday. Beijing’s hurried move is just the latest shot in an international trade war sparked by U.S. President Donald Trump as he works to level the playing field for global trade after China’s President Xi Jinping refused to withdraw retaliatory tariffs placed on America, as Breitbart News reported. Last week, Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on countries that have historically imposed high tariffs on the U.S., including China, which faced a 34 percent tariff in addition to existing tariffs on its goods. Supreme Court allows Trump Admin to enforce deportations of gang members under Alien Enemies Act

By Elizabeth Weibel | Breitbart The Supreme Court of the United States lifted a block from U.S. District Judges James Boasberg, which prevented the Trump administration from deporting suspected illegal alien gang members under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act. While the ruling from the Supreme Court is a win for President Donald Trump and his administration, it was described as “narrow and focused on the proper venue for the cases, rather than on the administration’s use of a centuries-old law to justify its decision” to deport suspected illegal alien gang members, according to the New York Times. Per the outlet, in a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court justices found that “the migrants had improperly challenged their deportations in Washington, D.C.,” when they should have c...

EU offers Trump ‘zero-for-zero tariffs’ on industrial goods with United States

By Kurt Zindulka | Breitbart EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Monday that the bloc has offered a “zero-for-zero tariff” trade arrangement on industrial goods with the United States in a bid to avoid a full-on trade war. While the EU chief continued to condemn the reciprocal tariff measures enacted by U.S. President Donald Trump to rectify the long-standing transatlantic trade imbalance, as pressure from the markets began to take shape, Von der Leyen and other top eurocrats expressed willingness to negotiate with the White House.
