Bennet, Weiser join Hands Off protest backed by radical activists, some sporting guillotine signs

By Colorado Peak Politics The political left’s lemmings with nothing better to do in Denver on Easter weekend protested the Trump administration’s efforts to save critical programs from bankruptcy through the elimination of government waste and fraud. It looks like only the Colorado politicians who recently announced campaigns for governor — U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet and Attorney General Phil Weiser — took advantage of the mass anger event to fuel those flames further and capitalize on their desperate need for attention. https://twitter.com/MichaelBennet/status/1913693551541526946 Interestingly, the state’s top law enforcement guy noted that he really enjoyed the signs, many of which called for violence. https://twitter.com/pweiser/status/1913668307775103352 The Colora...

Colorado bill blocks deportation efforts, weakens citizenship path requirements

Colorado Peak Politics Colorado Democrats use a lot of energy and our tax dollars encouraging migrants to come here illegally and then remain as non-citizens, rather than promoting legal U.S. citizenship. And here they go again. A state Senate panel this week passed radical legislation to further restrict deportation activities of federal immigration officers in every Colorado city. Plus, the bill kills current requirements that migrants be actively pursuing legal citizenship when applying for a driver’s license or in-state tuition to a public university, which is subsidized by taxpayers. And shamefully, not a single reporter or Democrat voter is asking why the legislature is incentivizing non-citizens to retain their illegal status. The pending bill is SB25-276, and It’s...

How HB1312 could reshape custody courts, schools, and family law in Colorado

By Colorado Peak Politics Colorado Democrats have jumped the political shark with a dangerously radical bill that authorizes courts deciding child custody cases to consider if a parent can’t keep their pronouns straight. The summary of HB25-1312 passed on a party line vote in the House Sunday reads; “Section 1 of the bill creates the “Kelly Loving Act.” Section 2 provides that, when making child custody decisions and determining the best interests of a child for purposes of parenting time, a court shall consider deadnaming, misgendering …” and something about publishing that doesn’t make sense so we didn’t include it here. Call us old fashioned, but physical abuse should top the list of limiting a parent’s custodial rights to their own flesh and bl...

Colorado’s gun control déjà vu: D.C. law failed, will Polis repeat it?

By Colorado Peak Politics Gov. Polis’s head must be heavy under the weight of his crown as he contemplates whether to sign a bill denying Coloradan’s their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, or be a Constitution loving Democrat as they all claim these days. Misleading headlines suggest the bill merely requires gun owners take a class before buying a gun, and yet the legislation on Polis’s desk grants government authority over who can buy commonly used guns for self protection. It reeks of the same law that effectively outlawed gun ownership in Washington, D.C. for decades earning it the nickname of crime capitol of the world. https://twitter.com/RepJeffCrank/status/1907570657463767140 READ THE FULL STORY AT COLORADO PEAK POLITICS

Second scandal, same party: staff mistreatment allegations mount for Colorado Democrats

By Colorado Peak Politics It’s only been a few weeks since Sonya Jaquez Lewis resigned from the Colorado Senate amidst accusations that she mistreated her young employees. Now we learn that House Democrats were also investigating state Rep. Regina English for some bizarre treatment of her aides but kept that unfolding scandal hush hush. Surprisingly, it was the Democrat Mothership that broke the story: A Colorado lawmaker has been accused of retaliating against and mistreating her aides, including documented allegations that she ignored an aide’s complaint of sexual harassment by a relative of the lawmaker last year, The Denver Post has confirmed. Regina English is accused of many things. She is said to have used slurs against LGBTQ+ people, and required her aide...

Coloradans get their chance to scrap sanctuary laws with ballot measure

By Colorado Peak Politics, Commentary Detainees at the Aurora immigration facility escaped this week and are still at large but the media could care less except to fuel a fight between local law enforcement and ICE. Reporters aren’t the least bit curious how the two escapees, and only those two, knew that one back door was unlocked during a power failure. Why was there a power failure and how does that affect the security of the center? So-called journalists don’t seem to care enough to find out. How does the surrounding community feel about the fact that local police refused to respond when called? Or at the very flipping least, why Aurora PD couldn’t even issue a BOLO alert for their officers to be on the lookout? And while we’re grandstanding, since when does the media...

Fact-Checking Polis at the Democratic Convention: Holding Him Accountable Since Others Won’t

By Colorado Peak Politics Having completed his Comic Con duties in Colorado, Gov. Polis is now at the Democrat National Convention where he is being celebrated as the newest member of the progressive brat pack whilst flacking for Kamala. He made the obligatory appearance on MSNBC to hype the Democrat Party and the ascension of their unelected nominee to protect that kind of “democracy.” Since no one else is bothering to fact check the crazy claims being spewed from this side of the political aisle, Peak is taking up the challenge.
