Devotional: Where does strength come from in trying times?

By Drake Hunter | Guest Columnist On January 3, 2024, my wife, Sherrie, received a diagnosis that turned our reality upside down and changed our lives forever. She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and the news was devastating and incredibly difficult to process. We now face a testing journey of love, resilience, and faith in ways we never imagined. Many have asked how we cope with such a dreadful experience, and the answer is simple: strength. This strength comes from our belief in God, who is forever strong and gives us the courage to face any challenge. We believe in the Mighty God (El Gibbor, Isaiah 9:2-7), who is strong yesterday, today, and forever. Like Sherrie and me, this strength is available to anyone who "Just Believes!" As I write these words, my wife is go...

Miltimore: Sen. Rand Paul exposes the ‘Great Covid Cover-up’

By Jon Miltimore | The Foundation for Economic Education In an explosive new op-ed, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) claimed that at least 15 separate federal agencies knew that attempts to create a COVID-19-like coronavirus were being undertaken at the Wuhan Institute of Virology as early as January 2018. Yet, heads of these agencies did not reveal this information to the public; for years, they actively refused to release information on the project to lawmakers such as Paul, who were attempting to provide congressional oversight. “For years, I have been fighting to obtain records from dozens of federal agencies relating to the origins of COVID-19 and the DEFUSE project,” wrote Paul, who in March revealed he was formally launching a bipartisan investigation into the...

Orr, Rolling: Xcel power blackout showcases the high cost of unreliable electricity

By Isaac Orr and Mitch Rolling | Complete Colorado Hundreds of thousands of Xcel Energy customers in Colorado recenlty lost power as high winds damaged power lines, and Xcel preemptively shut off the power to 55,000 customers to mitigate the risk of wildfires. Among the customers who lost power were homeowners and small businesses who received little to no warning. The Denver Post detailed how families experienced entire refrigerators and freezers full of food spoiling, forcing them to refill them at a time when food costs are 25 percent higher than they were four years ago. Business owners without power lost tens of thousands of dollars due to the outages, which stemmed from lost revenue from being unable to do business and lost products. Restaurant...

Sloan: Mr. President, “don’t” is not a foreign policy

By Kelly Sloan | Special Contributor, The Rocky Mountain Voice After receiving intelligence reports that Tehran was up to something in response to Israel’s successful strike in Syria that eliminated some top Iranian General’s who were leading Hezbollah units, President Biden publicly told the Iranian’s “Don’t”. Well, they did. And boy did they fail spectacularly. Of the 110 ballistic missiles, 30 cruise missiles and 170 drones that the Iranian military fired at Israel, virtually none survived to reach their targets. Reportedly a couple landed near an airbase, lamentably injuring a 7-year-old girl, but not even causing a pause in the airbase’s operations. Now, there’s a lot to unpack with this episode, including the again-demonstrated vacuousness of the Biden Administration’s ...

Boll: Taxpayers subsidizing segregation through commissioner-supported Rainbow Prom in Douglas County

By LAUREEN BOLL | Guest Columnist The taxpayer could be on the hook for a Rainbow Prom, an event for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) youth this weekend at the Southridge Recreation Center. The event is sponsored by Castle Rock (CR) Pride. Per the event registration site, “this vibrant and inclusive event is open to ages 14-19, welcoming members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies for a night of celebration and unity.” Grouping people based on immutable characteristics - in this case sexual orientation and gender identity - and treating them differently is segregation. The Plessy v. Ferguson case in 1896 legalized racial segregation as long as facilities for each race, such as schools, were equal in quality. This ‘separate but equal’ doctrine was overtu...

Raleigh: Democrats’ systemic normalization of property theft birthed America’s squatter crisis

By HELEN RALEIGH | The Federalist Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., said last week that squatters have “no rights.” He should try to convince his Democrat colleagues and their far-left allies because their systemic effort to normalize property theft has led to the unprecedented squatter crisis in America. Their ultimate goal is to destroy property rights and replace capitalism with socialism. Squatting is a form of trespassing as squatters use properties without the owners’ permission or any legal documentation. Nor do squatters offer property owners financial compensation. Atlanta, Georgia, is the epicenter of the squatter crisis. Squatters have overtaken about 1,200 homes. One of the victimized homeowners, Lt. Col. Dahlia Daure, said she felt “violated” after ...

Caldara: Colorado legislature is the real threat to democracy

By Jon Caldara | Complete Colorado Every conversation about the Colorado state legislature should begin with this preface: “And these are the people who say Donald Trump is a threat to democracy. …” The legislature is moving forward with a bill to rip away direct elections of the Regional Transportation District Board (RTD), which encompasses the largest population of any local government in the state. Yes, they are willing to allow a couple of “window dressing” elected seats to “represent” the 3 million suckers in the Denver metro area, while minion political appointees seize control of the state’s largest local government. But the goal is clear: end taxation with representation. And these are the people who say Donald Trump is a threat to democracy. READ THE FULL...

Miltimore: New study calls into question whether DEI programs really boost corporate earnings

By Jon Miltimore | The Foundation for Economic Education It’s safe to say that diversity, equity, and inclusion is one of the more controversial ideas of our time (and a multibillion-dollar industry). Some such as Elon Musk argue that DEI — which definitionally speaking means addressing structural inequalities in society — constitutes blatant racism. Others contend that DEI is simply about creating more equitable and harmonious workplaces, and offers clear financial benefits to companies, as well. “Study after study has proved that diverse companies perform better than their more homogeneous counterparts,” Inc. reported in 2023. “Companies that don’t foster an inclusive environment or prioritize diversity initiatives do so at their own peril.” ...

Martin Luther King Jr. Writes “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” On April 16, 1963

By Tori Ganahl | Rocky Mountain Voice In the midst of the civil rights movement's fervor, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. penned his profound "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" on April 16, 1963. Locked away in Birmingham, Ala., King responded to criticisms from white clergy, defending his urgent call for justice against segregation. His heartfelt words, initially etched on scraps of paper, resonated as a powerful testament to the struggle for civil rights. King passionately rejected the notion of being an outsider to Birmingham's plight, declaring, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." He urged immediate action against segregation, emphasizing that waiting for the "right time" was futile. King advocated for non-violent protest and challenged conformity, calling on individu...

Pavlich: Your hard-earned dollars shouldn’t go to Leftist media outlets

By Katie Pavlich | Townhall.com Each year, more than $500 million of your hard-earned tax dollars get funneled through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and into the bank account of National Public Radio (NPR), a far-left media outlet dedicated to tearing down America and the values you believe in. NPR claims to be "an independent news organization committed to informing the public about the world around us." But for decades, NPR has been dedicated to attacking conservatives and carrying water for Democratic politicians. Remember this from the 2020 presidential election? "We don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the listeners' and readers' time on stories that are just pure distractions," NPR Managing Editor Samuels s...
