Andre Zachery filed a lawsuit against Penny in December, shortly before a jury found Penny not guilty of criminally negligent homicide, demanding “judgment awarding damages in a sum which exceeds the jurisdictional limits of all lower Courts which would otherwise have jurisdiction.” Penny’s attorneys are seeking to get that lawsuit dismissed, Fox News reported. Twenty-six states sued to stop the regulations from going into effect, and the Supreme Court in August provided a temporary stay of the rules. But now a federal court has blocked the regulations from going into effect for all states – even those that didn’t sue to block the regulations.
