Noem responds to Secret Service scrutiny as Trump to become 1st president to attend Super Bowl

By Danielle Wallace  | Fox News Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the U.S. Secret Service, which is tasked with protecting President Donald Trump while he makes history Sunday as the first sitting U.S. president to attend the Super Bowl.  The Secret Service falls under the purview of the Department of Homeland Security. Asked if she'd had sufficient time to get into the department and investigate the lapses leading up to the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, Noem told "Fox News Sunday" host Shannon Bream that DHS was "moving in the right direction," while stressing that hundreds of other DHS personnel outside Secret Service alone would be deployed during the game.  "And I'm proud of Secret Service and all the work that th...

Trump ‘border czar’ Homan vows to probe leak that stifled ICE raid in Colorado

By Bailee Hill | Fox News Border czar Tom Homan issued a warning after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid was leaked this week, greatly reducing the number of violent Venezuelan gang members authorities were able to arrest.  Homan said he will be addressing the leak stemming from Wednesday's operation in Aurora, Colorado, "immediately" during "The Faulkner Focus," making it clear anyone who stifles the agency's ability to get dangerous criminals off the streets will be held accountable.  "We're not going to tolerate it anymore. This is not a game," Homan told Harris Faulkner on Thursday.  READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

By Joseph A. Wulfsohn , Brian Flood | Fox News Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr knocked CBS News' conduct following the release of the network's unedited transcript of its "60 Minutes" interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris. The FCC released the raw transcript and footage it obtained from CBS News of its October 2024 sit-down with Harris that has been at the center of controversy.  "CBS's conduct is hard to explain," Carr told Fox News Digital. "On the one hand, CBS immediately released the unredacted transcript of a recent interview with Vice President Vance. Yet for months they refused to release the one with Vice President Harris." FBI agents sue Trump DOJ to block any public identification of employees who worked on Jan. 6 investigations

By Breanne Deppisch | Fox News A group of nine FBI agents filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to block the public identification of any FBI employees who worked on the Jan. 6 investigations into the U.S. Capitol riots, in an attempt to head off what they described as potentially retaliatory efforts against personnel involved in the probe. The plaintiffs, who filed the lawsuit anonymously in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, said that any effort to review or discriminate against FBI employees involved in the Jan. 6 investigations would be "unlawful and retaliatory," and a violation of civil service protections under federal law. The lawsuit cited the questionnaire employees were required to fill out detailing their specific role in the Jan. 6 investigation and Mar-a...

House delays key vote on Trump budget bill after conservative fury over spending cuts

By Elizabeth Elkind  | Fox News A key vote to advance a massive conservative policy bill has been delayed, putting House Republicans behind in their ambitious schedule to enact President Donald Trump's agenda. The House Budget Committee had initially aimed to go through and approve the legislation this week, but a source familiar with planning told Fox News Digital that is no longer the case. It comes after conservatives on the panel rejected multiple offers by House GOP leaders on where to set a baseline for cutting federal spending, urging senior Republicans to seek deeper cuts ahead of negotiations with the Senate. Trump agrees to pause tariffs on Canada in exchange for more border enforcement

By Louis Casiano | Fox News President Donald Trump will pause additional tariffs on Canadian imports for 30 days following a call with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who made some concessions to temporarily stave off the levies.  Trump and Trudeau spoke via phone Monday, hours before additional 25% tariffs were to take effect on Canadian goods coming into the United States. In a post on X, Trudeau said Canada will implement a $1.3 billion border plan and will appoint a fentanyl czar.  In addition, Canada will reinforce its border with new helicopters, technology, personnel and enhanced coordination with American authorities. He added that nearly 10,000 personnel are and will be working on border protection.  READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

What will the Fed do with interest rates and how will Trump react?

By Eric Revell  | Fox Business The Federal Reserve is set to announce its next interest rate move on Wednesday, which could prompt a reaction from President Donald Trump, who recently called for the Fed to lower interest rates. Members of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) are expected to leave the target for the benchmark federal funds rate unchanged at a range of 4.25% to 4.5% — which would be the central bank's first pause in this rate-cutting cycle following three consecutive cuts that brought rates down from 5.25% to 5.5%. The Fed's anticipated pause could prompt Trump to renew his criticism of the central bank and Fed Chair Jerome Powell, following the president's call for lower interest rates last week.
