By Norishka Pachot | KXRM-TV Fox 21 News A Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) biologist is leading a team to trap several bighorn sheep and relocate them to mountains near Pueblo. CPW terrestrial biologist Tyrel Woodward will be leading a team throughout the month of January to trap 20 bighorn sheep at an old quarry above Colorado Springs. On Tuesday, Jan. 14, CPW staffers John Barkowski and Joey Livingston helped distribute bales of hay and apple pulp to lure 150-member Rampart herd to a site where a net would be set up to catch 20 sheep. Single-engine aircraft landed in field near Monument due to engine trouble

By Ashley Eberhardt | Fox 21 News An initial report from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) states that a Piper single-engine airplane that landed in a field near Monument on Jan. 6 experienced engine trouble. The Piper PA-12 landed in a field near Highway 105 between Monument and Palmer Lake around 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6. According to FAA records, the plane took off from Kelly Air Park in Elbert, Colorado, about 25 miles northeast of Monument. Rescue Mission employee allegedly stole up to $20,000 from residents

By Ashley Eberhardt | Fox 21 News Arrest documents are revealing more information about thefts from residents of the Pueblo Rescue Mission (PRM) that total anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000. According to the arrest affidavit for a former employee of PRM, Lori Arabie, Arabie was working as a director at the Mission and was allegedly the only one with access to a safe in her office where residents’ cash was stored. The documents reveal that the Mission’s treasurer was informed in September by the executive director that a large sum of money, between $10,000 and $20,000 of residents’ cash, was stored on-site. The treasurer was shocked because that posed a large liability risk. The treasurer was under the assumption that petty cash was kept on-site, but not as much money as was reporte...

The USPS is suspending its regular mail delivery, retail services and office activity on Thursday in recognition of the national day of observance to honor former President Jimmy Carter, whose state funeral will be held at the National Cathedral on Thursday. By MIKE SCHNEIDER | Associated Press, via Fox 21 News The world population increased by more than 71 million people in 2024 and will be 8.09 billion people on New Year’s Day, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates released Monday. The 0.9% increase in 2024 was a slight slowdown from 2023, when the world population grew by 75 million people. In January 2025, 4.2 births and 2.0 deaths were expected worldwide every second, according to the estimates. From child seats to eggs to cell phones, new laws are going into effect in January

These range from new child safety seat laws to a law banning people from holding cell phones while driving. These laws were mainly passed in the 2024 legislative session, though one major law was passed four years ago in 2020 and will enter its final phase in January.
