Congressman Evans Urges Colorado to Embrace Oil, Gas and Nuclear

Gabe Evans and other Colorado Republicans have set their sights on reducing environmental regulations in an effort to increase oil and gas production and revive nuclear power in Weld County. Matt Turner launches 2026 campaign for Weld County sheriff

By Trevor Reid | Greeley Tribune Turner, a captain at the agency, has been with the sheriff’s office since 2012 Since 1987, there have only been three Weld County sheriffs: Ed Jordan, John Cooke and Steve Reams. In November 2026, Matt Turner hopes to add his name to that list. “We have a rich history in Weld County of building our sheriffs in the office,” Turner said. “Not seeing that person freaks me out. So I don’t want to say I feel like I have to do this, but I don’t see anybody else. And I want to make sure the sheriff’s office is taken care of.” Turner lists five primary things he plans to focus on if he is elected as the 40th sheriff of Weld County. Wave of Hope Learning Centers to open Greeley location for homeschool families 

By Morgan Mckenzie | Greeley Tribune The Wave of Hope Learning Centers has opened enrollment for its Greeley site for a unique educational enrichment partnership with homeschool families. The Wave of Hope Learning Centers, an educational nonprofit, supports homeschooled families with a learning cooperative experience and enrichment program, according to Tonya Van Beber, executive director of Wave of Hope Learning Centers. The center uses hands-on experience, problem-solving, creativity, ethical leadership and more to showcase what Weld County has to offer for students’ bright futures. “This is a phenomenal place to live,” Van Beber said. “I’ve been all over the world, and this is definitely my home.
