Colorado to Enforce New Gun Purchase and Ammunition Restrictions in 2026

By: Rachel Ramsey | KKTV 11 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Some of the new gun laws set to take effect in Colorado this summer have gotten mixed reactions. Those who support the new laws say they will improve public safety. Those against them say they infringe on Second Amendment rights. Senate Bill 25-003 has seen the most controversy. The law is set to take effect August 1, and will ban the purchase of certain semi-automatic firearms unless certain requirements are met. DHS Boosts Self Deportation Incentive to $3,000 Aiming to Cut Enforcement Costs

By CNN Newsource Staff | KKTV 11 (CNN) - The Department of Homeland Security is now offering $3,000 to undocumented immigrants to self-deport by the end of the month. That is triple the $1,000 stipend offered since May. Immigrants who take the offer are also given a free plane ticket and any civil fines or penalties for failing to leave the country are cleared. Teens arrested in Colorado Springs for stolen car and fentanyl possession

By Brianna Leonard | KKTV 11 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Two teenage suspects are facing several charges after a motor vehicle theft investigation. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers were investigating a stolen green 2017 Subaru on Monday. CSPD’s motor vehicle theft unit identified Carmine Frey, 18, as the driver of the vehicle. Detectives initiated a traffic stop with a marked vehicle; however, police said Frey quickly drove off. Detectives reportedly saw Frey wearing a black mask while driving away. Detectives later detained Frey in the area of North Circle Drive and Galley Road.
