McWilliams: Social-emotional learning teaches empathy—but through whose lens?

By Jennifer McWilliams | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Social-emotional learning (SEL) is championed as a way to instill empathy, emotional strength, and relationship building skills in students. Sounds perfect for K-12, doesn’t it? Think again. SEL is designed to push a leftist agenda on students and transform their attitudes, values, beliefs and worldview towards “leftist radical ideology.” It promotes specific emotional behaviors that force kids into lockstep conformity, crushing their individuality and critical thinking, all while hiding behind the facade of “mental health.” An ongoing challenge to stopping this is that parents are deceived into thinking SEL is teaching their children life skills in a way they approve. They hear “Social Emotional Learning’s flowery la...

Bhagat and Terjesen: To stay competitive, U.S. markets must reward performance—not politics

By Sanjai Bhagat and Siri Terjesen | The Daily Signal President Donald Trump’s America First Investment Policy touts that welcoming foreign investment and strengthening the United States’ “world-leading private and public capital markets will be a key part of America’s Golden Age.” Of the $124 trillion market capitalization of the global stock market, U.S. stocks account for 49%, and international investors own 17% of those U.S. stocks. By comparison, Chinese stocks comprise 13% of the global stock market, and international equity ownership of Chinese stocks is just 3.4%. Why does the U.S. stock market dominate internationally? Why are international investors attracted to the U.S. stock market? What can U.S. policymakers do to increase the a...

Federal judge OKs use of Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelans gang members

By Rebecca Boone | AP via KDVR A federal judge says President Donald Trump can use the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan citizens who are shown to be members of the Tren de Aragua gang. The ruling Tuesday from U.S. District Judge Stephanie Haines in Pennsylvania appears to be the first time a federal judge has signed off on Trump’s proclamation calling Tren de Aragua a foreign terrorist organization and invoking the 18th century wartime law to deport people labeled as being members of the gang. Also Tuesday, another federal judge in the western district of Texas temporarily barred the Trump administration from using the Alien Enemies Act to deport people in that region. At least three other federal judges have said Trump was improperly using the AEA to speed deportations of p...

Trump’s ‘one big, beautiful bill’ gets ‘no tax’ on tips and overtime

By  Daniel Chaitin | Daily Wire Two of President Donald Trump’s major tax-related campaign promises that will impact millions of American workers have made it into legislation proposed for the so-called “one big, beautiful bill,” albeit only for a period that would not last beyond his second term. “No Tax On Tips” and “No Tax On Overtime” appear in a 389-page measure released by the House Ways and Means Committee on Monday, with provisions saying the deductions would expire at the end of 2028. Another of Trump’s priorities, no tax on auto loan interest, made it into the legislation. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE DAILY WIRE

House panel plans to raise SALT deduction cap for members in blue states

By Jacob Adams | Daily Signal House Republicans are proposing to raise the state and local tax (SALT) deduction cap to $30,000, up from its current rate of $10,000. The move was announced on Monday by the House Ways and Means Committee, chaired by Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo. The deduction would apply to single and joint filers who make $400,000 or less per year. The move would be a huge win for Republican members of Congress in blue states, who stand to benefit the most from the raise, given that blue states usually have higher state income tax rates.  The change in tax policy is expected to be hotly debated, given that some Republicans view the tax deduction as ultimately a form of federal subsidizing of blue state taxation policies. David Hogg says DNC in process of removing him as vice chairman

By Brady Knox | Washington Examiner Democratic National Committee Vice Chairman David Hogg accused the organization of trying to remove him from his position. On Monday, Hogg announced that the DNC commenced an effort to fast-track his removal as vice chairman. Hogg, an immediately controversial leader, found his position on shaky ground last month after he pledged his group Leaders We Deserve would primary Democratic members of Congress he perceived as ineffective, especially older ones. His comment was viewed as violating the DNC’s commitment to “neutrality” and, in his eyes, triggered an effort to remove him from within the organization. “Today, the DNC took its first steps to remove me from my position as Vice Chair At-Large,” Hogg said in a statement. “Whi...

By Breitbart TV | Breitbart On Monday’s “Alex Marlow Show,” Outkick’s “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless” host Tomi Lahren discussed reporting on Nike. Lahren stated, “[A]llegedly, Nike is funding a study — or helped fund a study which, basically, in essence, would debilitate young boys, puberty blockers, hormone therapy … at a young age and say, okay, well, if we do this at such a young age, then they won’t have a competitive advantage.” READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Trump arrives in Saudi Arabia to kick off high stakes middle east trip

By Leif Le Mahieu | Daily Wire President Donald Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday with a large delegation from his cabinet for meetings with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other high-ranking Saudi officials. Air Force One landed at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at around 9:49 a.m. local time after an escort from a pair of Saudi F-15 fighter jets. Once on the ground, Trump was greeted by Mohammed bin Salman, who then took him inside the airport for a brief welcome with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Energy Secretary Chris Wright. From the airport, Trump and the American delegation were brought to the Saudi Royal Court by an escort of Arabian horses. While speaking with the crown pr...
