NYC firefighters forced to remove flag for 9/11 heroes after leftwing questioning, but backlash saves day

By Nick Arama | Red State We've seen a lot of bad stories this weekend that seem to have a common theme: people on the left seem on the march to try to stomp on everything that they don't like or find problematic, including things like the White House forbidding religious displays on an Easter egg design contest and proclaiming Easter Sunday "Transgender Visibility Day."  Now comes another story that's also a sign of leftists seemingly trying to stomp on something incredibly important.  Apparently, someone complained about a flag that firefighters had on one of their trucks at Ladder Company 11 in the East Village. The company had a flag with a red line in it honoring six of their brethren who were killed on 9/11 as they bravely tried to save people.  READ THE FULL STORY A...

Trump demands Biden apologize for proclaiming Easter Sunday ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’

By Tom Ozimek | The Epoch Times President Joe Biden has declared March 31, 2024, which falls on Easter Sunday, as “Transgender Day of Visibility,” sparking uproar among conservatives and scathing criticism from former President Donald Trump, who demanded that the president apologize to millions of Christians in the United States. “Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans ... You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back,” President Biden said in the March 29 proclamation, while boasting of appointing “transgender leaders” to his administration and ending a ban on transgender people from serving openly in the military. Calling transgender people “part of the fabric of our Nation” who help the country and its economy thrive, the president touted his...

Key Bridge wreckage removal process begins, officials reduce pressure of underwater BGE pipeline

By Hayes Gardner | Baltimore Sun A mess of steel and concrete from the destroyed Francis Scott Key Bridge sits in the Patapsco River, but efforts to clean it up took an initial step Saturday. Cutting a portion of the bridge into a smaller piece and using a crane, officials planned Saturday evening to remove the first segment of the bridge from the waterway. Four days after the Dali, a 984-foot ship weighing more than 112,000 metric tons, ran into the bridge and completely knocked it over, authorities are working to clear the water of debris. Six construction workers, who were on the bridge at the time of the accident, were killed. Authorities have only found two of their bodies. Gov. Wes Moore stressed that recovering their bodies remains a priority, but that weather conditions, p...

White House forbids kids from using ‘religious’ symbols, themes in Easter Egg Contest

By Nick Arama | Red State Joe Biden is fond of talking about being a Catholic, but he seems to have forgotten the meaning of the holy day of Easter.  Perhaps to him, it's just that day when the Easter Bunny has to chase him around to prevent him from getting lost and saying something stupid.  This year, they're holding an Easter egg design contest for the children of National Guard members. The theme is supposed to be celebrating National Guard families. But, guess what is forbidden in the designs? Any religious mention of Easter on the egg.  READ THE FULL STORY AT RED STATE

In new poll, voters support almost anyone over Haley as Trump’s VP pick, favor DeSantis

In a new Economist/YouGov survey, registered voters approved nine of 10 possible picks, with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) at the top of the list, with 68% approving of him as Trump’s running mate. He was followed by former Trump-era housing chief Ben Carson at 60%, Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AR) at 57%, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) at 56%, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy at 55%, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) at 53%, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) at 45%, former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard at 42%, and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) at 30%. READ THE ...

FDA concedes on ‘wonder drug’ Ivermectin, contradicting claim it is just an animal wormer

By Yuhong Dong | The Epoch Times After years of controversy over using ivermectin to fight COVID-19, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) finally gave in and agreed to remove its social media posts that urge people to stop using the drug. Since 1987, ivermectin has been used to treat human diseases. Doctors are also testing it for cancers outside the COVID-19 spectrum. This contradicts the FDA’s claim that ivermectin is an “animal drug.” The ivermectin controversy is just the tip of the iceberg, revealing a much larger problem. Behind massive mail-in ballot push is a little-noticed Biden executive order

By  Kevin Stocklin | The Epoch Times A federal effort to register voters using the government’s vast reach, including throughout the U.S. prison system, is raising concerns from critics who have said it won’t benefit Democrats and Republicans equally. Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson wrote to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on March 6 alleging that agencies under the attorney general’s charge are “attempting to register people to vote, including potentially ineligible felons, and to co-opt state and local officials into accomplishing this goal.” The allegation relates to President Joe Biden’s Executive Order 14019, which states, “The head of each agency shall evaluate ways in which the agency can, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, promote voter ...

Biden Administration made $236B in ‘Improper Payments’ last year: GAO report

By Naveen Athrappully | The Epoch Times An estimated $236 billion in improper or incorrect payments was made under the Biden administration last year, with Medicare and Medicaid accounting for $100 billion of that total, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). “For fiscal year 2023, 14 agencies reported a total estimated $236 billion in improper payments across 71 programs,” said a March 26 GAO report. Improper payments refer to payments “that should not have been made or were made in the incorrect amount.” The $236 billion calculation does not include certain government programs that agencies determined were “susceptible to significant improper payments.” As such, GAO believes the $236 billion estimate “potentially does not represent the full extent of impro...

FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison for Fraud

By Michael Washburn | The Epoch Times NEW YORK—A federal judge on March 28 sentenced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried to 25 years in prison for defrauding investors of $8 billion in the fallen cryptocurrency exchange. U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan handed down the sentence at a Manhattan court hearing after rejecting Mr. Bankman-Fried’s claim that FTX customers did not actually lose money and accusing him of lying during his trial testimony. In November, jurors convicted Mr. Bankman-Fried of all seven counts of conspiracy and fraud with which government lawyers charged him. “He knew it was wrong,” Judge Kaplan said of Mr. Bankman-Fried before handing down the sentence. “He knew it was criminal. He regrets that he made a very bad bet about the likelihood of getting caught. But he is...

He’s just Ken: Ex-Rep. Buck talks Boebert and his Freedom Caucus firing

By Olivia Beavers | Politico Ken Buck faced fire from two unlikely corners as he left Congress last week — ejected from the Trump-aligned House Freedom Caucus and taking blows from Rep. Lauren Boebert, who is running to replace him. But the Colorado Republican isn't retaliating. In an interview with POLITICO Friday, the last day he was a congressman, Buck continued to insist he was leaving due to the House’s dysfunctional and toxic environment, describing it as the worst he’s seen over the course of his five terms in office. That hasn’t stopped Boebert from publicly speculating that he had another motivation for an early exit: She has indicated on the online video platform Rumble that he wanted to screw up her chances of winning his seat in November. The timing of his retirement u...
