Two children were killed and 17 people — 14 of them children — were wounded in an attack on Annunciation Church in Minneapolis on Wednesday. WMBD-TV reported that 31-year-old Emerson Evans of the community of Normal appeared Monday in McLean County Circuit Court. Judge Amy McFarland agreed to prosecutors’ request to detain Evans pending a trial. Some states go further and require anyone who is subject to such an order to relinquish their firearms for the duration of the order.
