By Amy Sikma , Katherine Donlevy and Caitlin Doornbos | New York Post A knife-wielding homeless man who allegedly “heard voices” was shot dead outside the Republican National Convention Tuesday. A witness at the scene told The Post that the man was swinging two steak knives at police near the GOP event’s headquarters — just two hours before the nation’s leading party members were slated to take the stage. Witnesses reported watching the victim run away from security when he was fatally “shot in the back.” At least eight gunshots were heard. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

Whistleblower: FBI abuses security clearance to ‘purge’ conservatives, views them as ‘unworthy’ of employing

By Josh Christenson | New York Post The FBI is abusing its security clearance process to “purge” political conservatives from the bureau, according to recent whistleblower disclosures reviewed by The Post. The federal law enforcement agency’s Security Division has been suspending or revoking clearances for employees whose political affiliation or COVID-19 vaccination status are suspect, a supervisory special agent who formerly worked in the division alleges. The unnamed agent, who is described as “a registered Democrat” and is represented by the nonprofit Empower Oversight, further claims that high-ranking officials in the division believed “if an FBI employee fit a certain profile as a political conservative, they were viewed as security concerns and unworthy ...

Trump trial: Defense slams Cohen as ‘greatest liar of all time’ in closing arguments, protesters scuffle outside

By Ben Kochman , Kyle Schnitzer , Max Rivera and Kaydi Pelletier | New York Post Closing arguments are underway in Donald Trump’s criminal trial over his alleged “hush-money” payments to Stormy Daniels. Meanwhile, outside the courthouse actor Robert De Niro and retired Capitol police officers slammed Trump during a Biden campaign presser. Trump’s team took the mic with a rebuttal at the same spot right after. Presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payment that his former “fixer” lawyer, Michael Cohen, made to the porn star ahead of the 2016 election. Sen. Menendez’s cluttered home loaded with $150K in gold bars, $480K in cash — some stashed in a boot

By Priscilla DeGregory and Ben Kochman | The New York Post It’s a “boot-load” of cash. New photos shown at Sen. Bob Menendez’s federal bribery trial reveal over $600,000 in cash and gold bars stashed around his cluttered New Jersey home — including a stack of bills stuffed inside a Timberland boot. Jurors at the Menendez trial, which began last week in Manhattan federal court, were shown dozens of photos taken inside the Garden State Democrat’s Englewood Cliffs house during a June 2022 raid by the FBI. The pictures, presented in court Thursday, show gold bars small and large, some appearing to be older with nicks and scratches on the surface while others are wrapped in clear plastic packaging. Defiant Marjorie Taylor Greene vows to move on Johnson ouster next week, against RNC advice

By Josh Christenson and Diana Glebova | New York Post Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Wednesday she will force a vote to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson “next week,” one day after House Democrats vowed to block her motion to vacate. In a morning Capitol Hill press conference, Greene (R-Ga.) stood alongside Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) to declare that they would seek to remove the Republican leader for his “three betrayals” on conservative priorities. “I think every member of Congress needs to take that vote, and let the chips fall where they may,” the Georgia congresswoman said. “Next week, I am going to be calling a motion to vacate — absolutely calling it. I can’t wait to see Democrats go out and support a Republican speaker and have to go home to their primary and h...

George Soros is paying student radicals who are fueling nationwide explosion of Israel-hating protests

By Isabel Vincent | New York Post George Soros and his hard-left acolytes are paying agitators who are fueling the explosion of radical anti-Israel protests at colleges across the country. The protests, which began when students took over Columbia University’s Morningside Heights campus lawn last week, have mushroomed nationwide. Copycat tent cities have been set up at colleges including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia — all of them organized by branches of the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) — and at some, students have clashed with police. By Selim Algar | New York Post Convicted double murderer Alex Murdaugh was slammed with a 40-year prison term Monday morning for a slew of financial crimes he pleaded guilty to last year. The disgraced former attorney has already been sentenced to two life terms for the shocking murders of his wife and 22-year-old son in one of the most closely watched criminal cases in recent history. The federal term handed down Monday is in addition to another 27-year sentence Murdaugh received in state court for similar financial offenses. “There’s not enough time and I don’t possess a sufficient vocabulary to adequately portray to you in words the magnitude of how I feel about the things I did,” Murdaugh said at Monday’s proceeding.
