Feds bust Wisconsin judge for allegedly helping illegal migrant accused of punching victim 30 times evade ICE agents

By Emily Crane and Samuel Chamberlain | New York Post A veteran Wisconsin judge was arrested Friday on charges of helping a Mexican illegal migrant evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in her courtroom. Judge Hannah Dugan, who has been on the Milwaukee County bench for nearly a decade, is accused of obstruction of justice and concealing Eduardo Flores-Ruiz from arrest following a pre-trial hearing last week. Dugan appeared briefly in Milwaukee federal court Friday morning before being released after prosecutors said they would not ask for her detention before trial. Her arraignment has been set for May 15. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

Trump vows ‘there will be a trade deal, 100%’ with Europe as Italy PM Georgia Meloni visits White House

By Diana Glebova | New York Post President Trump expressed optimism Thursday that the US and European Union can reach a trade deal as he welcomed Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to the White House. Meloni, 48, was the first European leader to meet with Trump, 78, since he announced last week that his “Liberation Day” suite of reciprocal tariffs would be paused for 90 days. “I’m sure we can make a deal, and I am here to help with that,” Meloni, dressed in all white, told Trump ahead of lunch in the Cabinet Room. “I cannot lock this deal in the name of the European Union,” she added. “My goal would be to invite President Trump to pay an official visit to Italy and understand if there’s a possibility when it comes to organize also such a meeting with...

US stocks fall after China slaps 125% tariff on US imports, escalating trade war

By Taylor Herzlich | New York Post US stocks fell on Friday as China struck back at President Trump’s latest tariff with a total 125% tax — further escalating trade tensions between the two nations. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 254 points, or 0.6%, after plummeting 1,014.79 the day before. The index has been on a wild ride over the past week as markets struggle to absorb back-and-forth trade war news, plunging more than 4,000 points after Trump revealed his so-called “reciprocal” tariffs last Wednesday, then recovering more than 1,500 points this week after he announced a 90-day pause on most of his harsher tariffs. Elon Musk’s DOGE discovers millions in taxpayer dollars wasted on unemployment claims for ‘fake people’

By Patrick Reilly | New York Post Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) revealed in a bombshell finding that millions of dollars in unemployment claims have been going to “fake people” who haven’t even been born yet — some not even in this century. DOGE claimed it reviewed an initial survey of unemployment claims since 2020 that found that 9,700 people whose birth dates aren’t for another 15 years have claimed $69 million in benefits. In one absurd case, a person whose birthday was listed in the year 2154 claimed $41,000, according to an X post by the department. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reveals 50 nations reached out to negotiate tariffs, warns ‘there is no postponing’

By Ronny Reyes | New York Post Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said about 50 nations have reached out to the US to discuss President Trump’s sweeping tariffs, though he said nothing will stop the levies from going forward. Defending the president’s economic plan on Sunday, Lutnick said the calls from foreign officials prove that “these countries know that they’ve been ripping us off,” suggesting there was no room for negotiations. “There is no postponing,” he told CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “They are definitely going to stay in place for days and weeks.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

Trump says China ‘played it wrong’ with tariff retaliation, vows ‘my policies will never change’

By Diana Glebova | New York Post President Trump stood by his “Liberation Day” reciprocal tariff package Friday after China hit back with a 34% tariff on US goods, promising investors that his “policies will never change.” In a string of all-caps Truth Social posts, the president argued his duties will withstand the test of the markets, which plunged yet again in the first hour of Friday trading. “CHINA PLAYED IT WRONG, THEY PANICKED – THE ONE THING THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO DO!” he wrote. Feds capture migrant with Tren de Aragua ties who escaped from Colorado ICE detention center

By Jennie Taer | New York Post After two weeks on the run, an illegal migrant believed to have ties to the violent Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua who escaped from an federal immigration detention center in Colorado has been captured, the US Marshals said Tuesday. Geilond Vido-Romero, 24, was one of two Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees to escape from the Denver Contract Detention Facility in Aurora on March 18 during a power outage. The feds said not only is Vido-Romero “a suspected Tren de Aragua associate,” he has an active federal warrant for his escape and another for failing to appear in court after he allegedly committed a theft and resisted arrest. Devine: FBI leaders blocked Hunter Biden laptop talk, logs reveal

By Miranda Devine | New York Post, Commentary New chat logs released by the House Judiciary Committee this week show the extraordinary lengths the FBI went to behind the scenes to shut down any discussion of Hunter Biden’s laptop in October 2020 after the New York Post broke the story.  The conversations, withheld by the FBI under Director Chris Wray, show that senior leadership issued an internal “gag order” on the laptop.  The FBI had been in possession of the abandoned MacBook Pro for 10 months by that stage, after computer repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac handed it over and warned of the potential crimes and national security concerns he had found. Russia says it won’t accept US cease-fire proposal ‘in its current form’ in sign Ukraine peace talks may have stalled

By Emily Crane | New York Post Russia is taking US proposals for a cease-fire in Ukraine “seriously” but can’t accept the deal as it stands, a senior Russian diplomat said Tuesday — suggesting peace talks between the two countries have stalled. “We take the models and solutions proposed by the Americans very seriously, but we can’t accept it all in its current form,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said, according to state media. “As far as we can see, there is no place in them today for our main demand, namely to solve the problems related to the root causes of this conflict. It is completely absent, and that must be overcome,” Ryabkov said. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

Rescued astronauts share first reactions to hearing they would stay in space longer than original timeline

By Emily Crane | New York Post US astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore have revealed their first reactions after learning their week-long test flight was about to turn into a nine-month space odyssey. “My first thought was, ‘We just got to pivot, right?,'” Williams, 59, said in a sitdown interview with Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom.” “I was like, ‘OK, let’s make the best of it.’ We planned, we trained that we’d be there for some part of a time, so we were ready to just jump into it and take on the tasks that were given to us.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST
