Initiative 138, appearing on this November’s ballot, allegedly guarantees parents will always have the right to direct the education of their children through school choice. Eric Joss, the Libertarian Party's nominee for the 8th District, has announced his decision to withdraw and offer his support to Evans. It could be a 2% or better swing in the race. Some county governments did not adjust their mill levies while property owners received assessment increases in a double-whammy. "I understand they are concerned, but they had a windfall and could have helped our taxpayers by adjusting their mill levies," Taggart said.
