Kittle: All things considered, lawmakers say it’s time to defund NPR

By M.D. KITTLE | The Federalist All things considered, National Public Radio represents the left wing of American journalism. Conservatives, of course, have known that for years. It took a veteran NPR editor with an ax to grind and some resurfaced tweets to drive home the point that the “Fresh Air” of public radio stinks with leftist bias.  So the question is: Why is the American taxpayer paying for this Pravda?   Some lawmakers are saying enough is enough.  U.S. Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., is introducing a bill to defund NPR. The bill’s draft, exclusively provided to The Federalist, prohibits federal funds in general from going to the radio network.  READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST

Raleigh: Democrats’ systemic normalization of property theft birthed America’s squatter crisis

By HELEN RALEIGH | The Federalist Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., said last week that squatters have “no rights.” He should try to convince his Democrat colleagues and their far-left allies because their systemic effort to normalize property theft has led to the unprecedented squatter crisis in America. Their ultimate goal is to destroy property rights and replace capitalism with socialism. Squatting is a form of trespassing as squatters use properties without the owners’ permission or any legal documentation. Nor do squatters offer property owners financial compensation. Atlanta, Georgia, is the epicenter of the squatter crisis. Squatters have overtaken about 1,200 homes. One of the victimized homeowners, Lt. Col. Dahlia Daure, said she felt “violated” after ...

Raleigh: Joe Biden’s signature achievement is his list of broken promises

By HELEN RALEIGH | The Federalist President Joe Biden’s Energy Department canceled its plan to purchase millions of barrels of oil to refill the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). The cancellation means the Biden administration is unlikely to fulfill its promise of fully replenishing the SPR by the end of the year, and the SPR will remain at a historically low level after the administration depleted it in 2022.  The depletion of the SPR was caused by the Biden administration’s own failed energy policy. Shortly after he came into office, President Biden issued a series of anti-fossil fuel energy policies, including canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline project and halting leasing on federal lands for oil and gas production. Biden’s energy policies stran...

Fleetwood: Media tacitly admit mail-in balloting is not as secure and reliable as they claim

BY: SHAWN FLEETWOOD | The Federalist Since the chaotic 2020 election and coincident expansion of mail-in balloting, America’s corrupt media have gone full throttle to convince the country that this unsupervised system is 1,000 percent safe and never produces fraud. The same consensus also accuses Americans concerned about the risks associated with mass mail-in voting of being conspiracy theorists and so-called “election deniers.” Within the past week, however, several legacy publications have released stories tacitly admitting that the process is not as secure or reliable as they regularly claim. Meta falsely links pro-parent school board president to child abuse images

BY JORDAN BOYD | The Federalist The Californians at the center of one of the biggest parents’ rights fights in the nation right now were targeted last month when Meta falsely associated searches of their names with a warning about “child sexual abuse.” President of Chino Valley Unified School District Sonja Shaw was one of two parents’ rights activists who, after supporting a policy requiring school staff to notify parents if their child indicates gender dysphoria, faced unfounded smears from Meta’s Facebook and Instagram. A screenshot of searches on these platforms from an attorney for Shaw shows that, for an undefined period, searches including Shaw’s name or position were blocked by a notification warning about child sexual abuse. Democrats work to erase the biggest school choice option in Colorado

By ROB MOULTON AND TIM HANNAN | The Federalist Public charter schools are an integral part of Colorado’s educational ecosystem. The Centennial State is now home to more than 260 charter schools that serve north of 130,000 students — more than 15 percent of the state’s total public school enrollment. Now some state lawmakers want to see these innovative, autonomous schools disappear. Introduced in early March following months of rumors and threats, Colorado House Bill 24-1363 takes aim at nearly every aspect of the state’s 30-year-old Charter Schools Act. The bill’s sponsors — Rep. Lorena Garcia, D-Adams/Jefferson, Rep. Tammy Story, D-Jefferson, and Sen. Lisa Cutter, D-Jefferson — introduced the bill despite widespread pushback and concern with early drafts from both sides of the p...

Greene files motion to oust Speaker Johnson after House passes $1.2 trillion spending bill

By BRIANNA LYMAN | The Federalist Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a motion to oust Speaker Mike Johnson on Friday after the House passed a $1.2 trillion spending bill that includes dozens of left-wing earmarks but no Republican voters’ priorities. Greene urged Johnson not to allow the bill a floor vote, calling it a “complete departure” from the party’s core values. “No Republican in the House of Representatives in good conscience can vote for this bill. It is a complete departure from all of our principles, especially if you call yourself ‘pro-life’,” Green said on the House floor. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST

Tucker Carlson: Biden Address Was ‘Darkest And Most Un-American’ State Of The Union Ever

By TRISTAN JUSTICE | The Federalist Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson called President Joe Biden’s speech Thursday night “possibly the darkest and most un-American speech ever given by an American president.” In an immediate response to Biden’s State of the Union address, the former prime-time host charged the president with delivering a speech “entirely lacking in decency or generosity to his fellow Americans.” “In fact it wasn’t a speech,” Carlson said, “it was a rant.” Carlson also called Biden a “doddering old man” who “can’t remember when his son died or when he served as vice president.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST

Cheney, J6 Committee suppressed exonerating evidence of Trump’s push for National Guard

By MOLLIE HEMINGWAY | The Federalist Former Rep. Liz Cheney’s January 6 Committee suppressed evidence that President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation’s capital, a previously hidden transcript obtained by The Federalist shows. Cheney and her committee falsely claimed they had “no evidence” to support Trump officials’ claims the White House had communicated its desire for 10,000 National Guard troops. In fact, an early transcribed interview conducted by the committee included precisely that evidence from a key source. The interview, which Cheney attended and personally participated in, was suppressed from public release until now. Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato’s first transcribed interview with the committee was conducted on January 2...

State of the Union: Biden lied 30 times during address to Congress

By SHAWN FLEETWOOD | The Federalist President Biden has been known to tell some pretty outrageous lies throughout his political career. So, it came as no surprise when Ol’ Sleepy Joe spewed out more than a few whoppers during his State of the Union address on Thursday. From foreign policy to the economy, there was almost no subject in which the president didn’t lie to the American people. In case you missed his dumpster fire speech, here’s the definitive list of Biden’s biggest SOTU falsehoods. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST
