CNN’s Harry Enten compares Democrats to Cracker Barrel flop as GOP surges in swing states

By Nick Givas | Commentary, The Western Journal CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten exposed how badly Democrats are doing in vital swing states on Monday, while lamenting the collapse of their brand, as key voters continue flocking to the Republican Party. Enten initially cited the “Cracker Barrel” rebranding nightmare, which saw the company change their classic logo by removing the “Old Timer” mascot known as Uncle Herschel. The restaurant had a change of heart Tuesday, following pressure from the public and President Donald Trump. Yet that didn’t stop Enten from using the analogy. “The Democratic brand right now has about the appeal with the American voter, as the Cracker Barrel rebrand has with the American consumers,” he said. “Bad, bad, bad! What are you doin’? ...

Police in Sanctuary City Defy Mayor Join ICE to Enforce Law

By Jack Davis | The Western Journal Many Boston police officers are defying Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu’s stance against Immigration and Customs Enforcement by secretly assisting federal authorities with critical intel. Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons told radio host Howie Carr about this crucial cooperation on Wednesday. “We have so many men and women of the Boston Police Department and other jurisdictions that are so pro-ICE, that want to work with us, and that are actually helping us behind the scenes,” he said. Lyons promised to target similar sanctuary cities with federal agents in order to get America’s immigration crisis under control. “We’re definitely going to, as you’ve heard the saying, f...

CDC warns of flesh-eating parasite threat as travel spreads risk

By Richard Moorhead | The Western Journal Even the name is grisly — but the behavior is even worse. The parasite known as the New World screwworm, a type of fly larva that feeds on living flesh and can be fatal to its victims, has been confirmed as infecting a human in the United States, according to Reuters. While human infections are vanishingly rare, the discovery has the nation’s beef industry on edge. As the Associated Press reported, screwworms are a species of fly with females that seek out orifices of living mammals to lay their eggs — such as the eyes, nose, mouth, or bleeding open wounds. When the eggs hatch, the larvae then bury into the flesh of the host organism with sharp teeth that burrow in like screws — hence the name. PLEASE READ THE COMPL...

President Trump’s federal crackdown exposes crime data cover-ups in Washington, D.C.

By Richard Moorhead | Commentary, The Western Journal From the Nation’s capital to sanctuary cities coast-to-coast, President Donald J. Trump is demonstrating unwavering resolve and effective leadership in restoring law and order and the safety American families deserve. In the heart of Washington, D.C., under President Trump’s decisive leadership, the federal government invoked Section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to declare a “crime emergency” and place the Metropolitan Police Department under federal control — an unprecedented move guided by the urgent need to protect Americans under siege. This bold action deployed National Guard troops and federal agents, resulting in more than 400 arrests, including 60 individuals suspected...

Adam Schiff Launches Legal Defense Fund as DOJ Investigation Tightens

By Joe Saunders | The Western Journal The man who led the prosecution of President Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial is now worried about his own defense. Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff, the longtime California congressman and chief impeachment manager against Trump in 2019-20, has launched a legal defense fund amid accusations that he engaged in mortgage fraud for more than a decade. It’s an accusation Schiff denies, but the director of the Federal Home Financing Agency is talking very tough. In a criminal referral to Attorney General Pam Bondi sent in May, FHFA Director William Pulte wrote that Schiff and his wife, Eve, purchased property in Potomac, Maryland, in 2003 that they affirmed would be their “primary residence.” That designation, Pulte wrote, enabled the Schiff...

Inflation relief hands Trump a talking point on tariffs and the economy

By Randy DeSoto | The Western Journal President Donald Trump took a shot at Goldman Sachs’ CEO and its economists Tuesday while touting July’s inflation number, which came in cooler than expected. Goldman Sachs was among the many investment firms that predicted in April that Trump’s tariff policy would be inflationary, tank the stock market, and likely cause a recession. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the consumer price index rose 2.7 percent in July compared to the same month last year and rose 0.2 percent from June. That compares to a 2.8 percent increase predicted by Wall Street, according to CNBC. Trump responded to the report, posting on Truth Social, “Trillions of Dollars are being taken in on Tariffs, which has been incredib...

Cook said during an Oval Office event with President Donald Trump that Apple supports 450,000 American jobs, with suppliers and partners in all 50 states. “I’m very proud to say that today, we’re committing an additional $100 billion to the United States, bringing our total U.S. investment to $600 billion over the next four years,” the CEO stated. Givas: Trump Salutes Hulk Hogan as a Patriot Who Helped Power MAGA

By Nick Givas | Commentary, The Western Journal President Donald Trump honored the memory of his “Great Friend” Hulk Hogan on his Truth Social account on Thursday, saying he was “MAGA All the Way” following the news of his death. “We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster,'” Trump wrote. “Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart. He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week.” Trump added, “He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed.” The commander in chief offered a touching remembrance for Hog...

Saunders: Bureaucracy and Billions Deliver Just Seven EV Stations Nationwide

By Joe Saunders | Commentary, The Western Journal When it comes to case studies in government incompetence, former President Joe Biden’s administration is a master class. Whether it was disastrous foreign policies like the withdrawal from Afghanistan, or disastrous domestic ideas like opening the southern border to an invasion of illegal immigrants from all over the globe, the Biden years were a lesson in the limitations of Democratic rule. Now, a new report from the Government Accountability Office is driving the message home in a way any American who drives can understand. The report released Tuesday shows the Biden administration’s $7.5 billion program created by the 2021 infrastructure bill to provide public chargers for electric vehicle use had managed, by April of this ye...
