The most important stat in a fresh NYT poll showing Trump pulling back ahead nationally

In case you missed Sarah’s post yesterday, a fresh nationwide survey from the New York Times and Siena College shows Donald Trump edging back out into the lead against Kamala Harris — in both the head-to-head and wider field numbers.  In the days immediately following Joe Biden being forced out of the race by his party, this pollster went into the field and found Trump ahead of Harris by one point among likely voters, 48 percent to 47 percent.

ABC News Host Tried to Spin Kamala’s Health Care Policy in Front of This GOP Senator. It Got Messy.

ABC News host Jonathan Karl tried to sell Sen. Tom Cotton some pure snake oil about Kamala Harris, but the Arkansas Republican wasn’t having any of it. The topic of this missive is a play on the words from the song by the rock band Queen, “We Are the Champions.” We all know the words to that song and the refrain.

Vespa: It’s Trump’s debate to lose

No wonder why the Biden team departed so early to Camp David for debate preparation. The White House summoned all the top Democratic strategists and advisers to ready the president as best they could against former President Donald Trump. Before they could review any of their attack lines or soundbites touting this administration’s little legislative record, they need to ensure Biden can stand for at least 90 minutes. That’s not a good thing for a president we’ve been told is vivacious, a night owl, and sharp as a tack:
