Treasury Secretary Says Massive Federal Fraud of Up to $600 Billion a Year is Draining US Budget

By Matt Vespa | Townhall Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently visited Minnesota, where he spoke with citizen journalists, local politicians, and law enforcement officials about the ongoing fraud allegations that have engulfed the state. The amount of money stolen is reportedly in the billions, maybe even the hundreds of billions. That figure was corroborated by Mr. Bessent, who said that on average, around 10 percent of the budget, around $300-600 billion, is stolen every year. He made these points to reporter Christopher Rufo: https://twitter.com/TheChiefNerd/status/2010391724410261880?s=20 This story comes after YouTuber Nick Shirley posted a viral video where he exposed these reportedly fraudulent daycare centers, the most infamous being “The Learing Center.”...

Colorado Hospitals Halt Gender Treatments for Minors After Federal Warning

By: Amy Curtis | Townhall On December 18, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced new and sweeping regulatory changes that would bring an end to "gender-affirming care" for minors. This includes a ban on puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical procedures for those under 18 years of age. The reforms mean that hospitals that continue to provide such "gender-affirming care" to children would be stripped of all federal funding as a condition of their participation in Medicare/Medicaid programs. In his announcement, Kennedy said, "Doctors assume a solemn obligation to protect children. Yet doctors across the country now provide needless and irreversible sex-rejecting procedures that violate their sacred Hippocratic oath, endangering t...

Federal Eyes Turn to Minnesota After YouTuber Exposes Massive Childcare Fraud

By: Matt Vespa | Townhall I mean, it’s wild. Maybe not for the locals who likely saw the alleged Somalian corruption schemes that appear to be rampant. From Medicare to childcare, this group seems to have gamed the system for tens of billions of dollars. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz seems to have allowed this to go unchecked under his watch, so federal agents are stepping up to sift through this gravy train, where hordes of so-called daycare centers are set up and then left empty.  https://twitter.com/SteveAustinWI/status/2005247521044729944?s=20 A YouTuber, Nick Shirley, did what the mainstream press would not: he investigated childcare centers that are collecting millions in funding but have no kids. He was accused of being an ICE agent by some unhinged, old, crusty wh...

Education Without Virtue Is a Danger to the Republic of the United States of America

By Mark Lewis | Commentary, Townhall I think we would all agree that education is one of the most important facets of any society. I'm not just talking about "going to school"; there is much more to education than that. Education can even begin in the womb, and takes off from birth. Everything we are surrounded by "educates" us, in one way or another—for good or ill. Not all education is "good." It should be unnecessary to say that. People can only know and act upon what they have been taught. If people don't know what "freedom" and "tyranny" are—and the source of both—then they will not know how to protect the former and guard against the latter. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). "My people have gone into captivity, because they have...

Fulton County admits rule violations involving 300,000 ballots tied to 2020 certification

By Amy Curtis | Townhall Some Republicans have argued for years that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. The truth is, we'll never get a clear answer on everything that went on during that year, but there was undoubtedly some questionable and shady stuff. Anyone who believes in democracy and election integrity should work tirelessly to make sure nothing like that ever happens again. That's why this story is so damning and alarming. It shows that one county in Georgia failed to follow the rules in 2020, and that the state's electoral votes — as well as the Senate race — could have gone in a different direction. Officials in Fulton County, Georgia — home of the state's capital, Atlanta — admitted they "violated" election rules in 2020 and accepted more than 300,000 early...

Funding trail reveals Soros-linked organizations behind anti-Trump ‘illegal orders’ campaign

By Matt Vespa | Commentary, Townhall If it doesn’t resonate, it sucks. If it lands you being interviewed for the FBI for maybe peddling a seditious conspiracy, it sucks. If pollsters say it sucks, it was an attack line that was never meant to be successful. Several Democrats have been peddling these cockamamie attack lines regarding our military. They’ve been urging our service members not to follow so-called illegal orders from President Trump. Have any been issued? No. It’s a shoddy political stunt, and it’s reportedly being bankrolled by none other than groups tied to George Soros:  https://twitter.com/DataRepublican/status/1993582203151028534?s=20 https://twitter.com/EricLDaugh/status/1993684458961088599?s=20 READ THE FULL COMMENTARY AT TOWNHALL Editor...

New X.com Feature Reveals Surge of Overseas Operators Pushing Misinformation

By Dmitri Bolt | Townhall Elon Musk’s company, X, recently launched a new feature on Friday that reveals the country of origin for every user account. The update is already raising eyebrows, offering a glimpse into how foreign-operated accounts may be using the platform to push misinformation on what has become one of the most politically consequential social media sites. Many of the accounts based in foreign countries are pretending to represent the America First agenda. https://twitter.com/authorrochelle/status/1992635515573580190?s=20 For example, an account called "@1776General_" which describes the owner as a "constitutionalist, patriot and ethnically American," with over 140,000 followers, is based in Turkey. The owner posted that they work in international business, an...

Trump Team Celebrates End of Schumer Shutdown With Viral Tweet

By Matt Vespa | Townhall The longest government shutdown is over, and Trump won. He won. And credit to the Republicans. If compromising on protections for federal workers was the price to stop $1.5 trillion from going to illegal alien health care benefits and funding NPR, that’s not the worst outcome. Still, Democrats got nothing. They basically signed onto the exact same deal Republicans pitched in October.  The president signed the bill, which passed the House 222-209 after sailing through the Senate once eight Democrats opted to end this circus and joined Republicans in reopening the government. At the signing, Trump reminded the nation of the damage Democrats did to the country with this shambolic ploy. https://twitter.com/EricLDaugh/status/1988809228732035381?s=20 h...

Republican Losses Offer Wake-Up Call Ahead of 2026

By: Matt Vespa | Townhall Last night was ugly. The major races in Virginia and New Jersey were killing fields for the GOP. But keep in mind one thing: these are blue states, and they acted like it. Republicans got swept in these key races. Republicans in Virginia lost the governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general races. New Jersey, where one hoped Republican Jack Ciattarelli could pull off an upset, was dashed by the general political mood and the fact that 250,000 New Jersey residents had fled the state the last time he ran, where he almost uprooted incumbent Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy. In the Old Dominion, the shutdown had an impact, for sure. Federal workers are Democrats, and they were furloughed and angry. Add that Republican Winsome Earle-Sears was not the best candi...

DHS Report Finds FEMA Workers Logged Political Views of Hurricane Victims

By: Leah Barkoukis | Townhall Last year, when devastating hurricanes hit the southeast coast of the U.S., higher-ups in FEMA ordered workers to discriminate against houses that displayed Trump campaign materials on their properties. Marn'i Washington, a FEMA official who was fired after ordering her subordinates to skip pro-Trump houses, gave an interview after her dismissal and claimed such discrimination was not an "isolated incident."  "FEMA always preaches avoidance first and then de-escalation, so this is not isolated," Washington said. "This is a colossal event of avoidance not just in the state of Florida, but you will find avoidance in the Carolinas." FEMA did pause aid in North Carolina, citing concerns over an "armed militia” threatening workers in th...
