McConnell and Johnson tell Harris to stop ‘fascist’ talk amid threats to Trump’s life

By Tracy Ross | Washington Examiner Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) accused Vice President Kamala Harris of paving the way for more political violence with her campaign rhetoric on Friday. The Republican leaders said in a joint statement that the Democrat’s branding of former President Donald Trump as a “fascist” has invited more assassination attempts and run counter to her prior condemnation of such violence. “These words have proven hollow. In the weeks since that second sobering reminder, the Democratic nominee for president of the United States has only fanned the flames beneath a boiling cauldron of political animus,” McConnell and Johnson said. “Her most recent and most reckless invo...

Touchberry: Harris aids Trump’s closing argument she’s Biden 2.0

By Ramsey Touchberry, Commentary | Washington Examiner Kamala Harris is selling herself as the “change” candidate, but beyond broad strokes, the vice president has offered scant details when pressed in recent weeks over which policies she would have handled differently than President Joe Biden. Harris’s case hinges on a twofold argument: The 60-year-old represents a new generation and differing life experiences that draw contrast to 81-year-old Biden and will influence her policies in a new direction. But Harris’s lack of specifics has fed into the narrative from Republicans and former President Donald Trump that she symbolizes a Biden 2.0. “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result,” a new Trump campaign ad states. Lloyd Austin confirms North Korean troops deployed to Russia

By Mike Brest | Washington Examiner Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed Wednesday that the United States has seen “evidence” that North Korean troops have deployed to Russia. Austin is the first U.S. official to confirm reports from Ukrainian and South Korean leaders about the North Korean troop movements. “We are seeing evidence that there are North Korean troops that have gone to Russia,” he told reporters traveling with him Wednesday in Rome. “What, exactly, they’re doing is left to be seen.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER

Poff: ‘The ‘single woke female’ election

By  Jeremiah Poff, Commentary | Washington Examiner To the Democratic Party and the future political prospects of Vice President Kamala Harris, there is no constituency more important than single women. When it comes to relationship status, no factor is more of a predictor that a woman will vote for the Democratic Party than that she is single. On the flip side, no factor is more of a predictor for a woman voting for the Republican Party than that she is married. According to data from the Pew Research Center, 50% of married women are registered Republicans, while 45% are registered Democrats. But 72% of never-married women are registered Democrats, while a meager 24% are registered Republicans. By contrast, the partisan split among men is muc...

Democrats plagued by ‘existential dread’ as Trump keeps race on razor’s edge

By Naomi Lim, Mabinty Quarshie and Cami Mondeaux | Washington Examiner Democratic euphoria over Vice President Kamala Harris has been replaced by panic as former President Donald Trump makes marginal gains in a close presidential race. Democrats find themselves in much better place than two months ago, when President Joe Biden trailed Trump across the battleground map. Harris has pulled within the margin of error from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin since taking over the ticket. Yet her perceived inability to connect with traditionally Democratic voters has cast a pall over the polls showing a toss-up race. Harris is underperforming Biden with black voters by 10 points, according to a recent survey from the New York Times and Siena College, while blue-colla...

Democrats concerned Harris has ‘until the end of this week’ to reach undecided voters

By Naomi Lim | Washington Examiner Democrats are worried the window for Vice President Kamala Harris to persuade undecided voters is closing despite her campaign’s more aggressive strategy. Harris is encountering difficulties connecting with members of the traditional Democratic base, including black and Latino men, and those undecided voters could decide the election. With less than three weeks until Nov. 5, Democrats, including South Carolina state Sen. Dick Harpootlian, concede the “persuasion piece” of the 2024 election “is over,” or it will be “by the end of this week.” “People will have made up their minds,” Harpootlian told the Washington Examiner. “I don’t think anybody’s going to walk into that voting booth or two days ...

Election win odds sour further on Harris after Fox interview

By Paul Bedard | Washington Examiner Vice President Kamala Harris did not win over election gamblers, who drove her chances of victory down further. Among two of the largest election gambling aggregate sites, former President Donald Trump now holds his biggest advantage in weeks. Mark Mitchell, the head pollster at Rasmussen Reports, made a comment on X that echoed many suggesting that Harris did little to expand her base. “Did Harris realize she was supposed to be picking up new voters? Because that’s not what she did,” he wrote. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER

Iran cuts off indirect communication line with U.S. amid escalating tension

By Brady Knox | Washington Examiner The Iranian government cut off indirect communication with the United States as tensions in the region continue to rise. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters that a vital deescalation method had been cut off due to the changing situation with Israel. “Due to the situation in the region, we have stopped exchanging indirect messages with America,” he said. “Currently we don’t see any ground for these talks, until we can get past the current crisis,” Araghchi added. Harris’s media blitz of border security lies and deceit

By Christopher Tremoglie, Commentary  | Washington Examiner Vice President Kamala Harris has kicked up her media appearances over the last few days, and it hasn’t gone well. From television interviews to radio programs to podcasts, the appointed Democratic nominee for president has decided to stop hiding from interviews after early voting has started in the country and with less than a month until Election Day. Yet one thing has remained consistent in her campaign: She continues to ignore, deceive, and lie about her horrific political record — especially on border security and immigration. By every available metric and analysis of Harris’s record on immigration since she has been vice president and border czar, it is abundantly clear she has a horrible record...

DHS confirms the Kamala Harris parole program is a national security risk

By The Washington Examiner The catch-and-release migrant programs created by President Joe Biden and endorsed by Vice President Kamala Harris have increased national security risks, according to the independent watchdog that oversees the Department of Homeland Security. The DHS Office of Inspector General released a report last week finding that Customs and Border Protection is releasing noncitizens without identification into the United States, contrary to federal law, in a manner that “inadvertently increases national security risks.” The same report also found that the Transportation Security Administration then lets these same unidentified noncitizens onto airplanes, where they are free to fly wherever they wish in the U.S. According to the report, CBP encountered 2.4 million ...
