Rasmussen: Most Voters Approve Trump’s National Guard Deployment

By: Misty Severi | Just the News The Rasmussen Reports poll found that 52% of likely U.S. voters supported the president's decision to deploy the troops, including 39% who strongly support Trump's policy. The majority of voters in a poll released Monday agreed that President Donald Trump was right to deploy National Guard troops in Chicago and Portland to defend Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agencies, despite a federal judge that blocked him from doing so. The poll comes after a judge blocked Trump from sending troops to Portland last week, ruling that the deployment violated both federal law and the 10th Amendment.  The Rasmussen Reports poll found that 52% of likely U.S. voters supported the president's decision to deploy the troops, including ...

Citizen rights at risk as noncitizen voting spreads in U.S. cities

By Charlie Kolean | Commentary, Washington Examiner It may be an off-year election cycle, but the November ballot initiatives are heating up. One particular fight is fundamental to our democracy: citizen-only voting. Most people assume that to vote in the United States, one must be a U.S. citizen. But this is not the case: Only 20 state constitutions include language explicitly confirming that only U.S. citizens are allowed to vote in elections. Every other state is vulnerable to cities allowing noncitizens to vote. It is more common than people think. In Chicago, noncitizens can vote in local school council elections. In San Francisco, noncitizens can not only vote in school board elections, but also serve on City Council-appointed commissions. In Wa...

President Trump vows voter ID mandate through executive order

By Anders Hagstrom | Fox News President announces plan on social media along with restrictions on mail-in voting President Donald Trump says he plans to sign an executive order aimed at requiring voter ID in elections across the country. Trump made the statement on social media late Saturday night, saying he is also seeking other reforms to how U.S. elections take place.   "Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!! Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military. USE PAPER BALLOTS ONLY!" Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump previously attempted to impose voter ID via an executive order earlier this year in a wider election integrity action. In April, Ju...

DOJ requests Colorado’s 2020 and 2024 voter data—Griswold’s ‘Gold Standard’ gets tested

By Heather Willard | Fox31 DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado’s Secretary of State revealed Wednesday that the U.S. Department of Justice asked Colorado to turn over all records that relate to the 2024 federal elections and preserve all records from the 2020 election. The election official sent an email highlighting reporting by NPR, which said the DOJ request was made on May 12. “What they’re going to do with all this data, I don’t know,” Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat, told NPR and shared with FOX31 via email. “But I’m sure they will use it to push their ridiculous disinformation and lies to the American public.” Colorado elections noticed by Trump admin previously Colorado’s elections have been heralded by Griswold and other officials as being the “gold ...

Harris won female cat owners, but Trump got the dog owner vote: AP VoteCast

By  Linley Sanders, Humera Lodhi and Annie Ng | AP The lead-up to the 2024 election was all about cat owners — but in the end, the dogs had their day. President-elect Donald Trump won slightly more than half of voters who own either cats or dogs, with a big assist from dog owners, according to AP VoteCast, a survey of more than 120,000 voters. Dog owners were much more likely to support Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris. Cat owners, meanwhile, were split between the two candidates. About two-thirds of voters said they own a dog or cat, but pet owners don't usually get much attention from politicians. That is, until this year, when then-vice presidential candidate JD Vance's old comments about “childless cat ladies” briefly became a campaign issue — and Taylor Swift signed he...

Soros gave record cash to pro-Democratic ‘local news’ network that spent millions influencing 2024 election

By Robert Schmad | Washington Examiner A constellation of ostensibly local publications owned by a Democratic-aligned corporation based in New York City received a record amount of funding from the Soros network during the 2024 election cycle. The news network went on to spend millions on political advertisements praising Democrats and opposing Republicans, without disclosing their partisan ties. Courier Newsroom is a public benefit corporation that owns and operates a network of 11 media outlets presenting themselves as trusted sources of “local news.” These newsrooms, all of which are located in politically competitive states, however, have historically published favorable pieces about regional and national Democrats while giving unfavorable coverage to Republicans, all w...

Kalam: Lessons (not) learned from the 2024 election

By Ahnaf Kalam | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice As I settled into my usual spot at my go-to Colfax bar for its election watch party, donning my black MAGA hat, I could feel the tension even before the manager approached me. I’d come to watch the election results, as did everybody else, but it seemed my hat alone was enough to make people uneasy. The manager — a friend, or so I thought — came over and, with a forced smile, asked if I’d either remove the hat or leave. Her reasoning was that “some women in the bar don’t feel safe with you openly supporting a rapist.” Leaving aside the fact that the allegation she referred to is, at best, tenuous and politically motivated, I had to marvel at the double standard. People in Biden or Harris attire were mingling freely, without so...

Devine: How Liz Cheney and P’Nut became the bizarre closing symbols of the 2024 election — freedom vs. authoritarianism

By Miranda Devine | Commentary, New York Post P’nut the squirrel and Liz Cheney are two bizarre closing symbols of this election campaign. If we read the tea leaves, we can see how they represent what’s really at stake on Tuesday: freedom versus authoritarianism — only it’s the reverse of what Kamala Harris has been saying. Hint: it’s her political compatriots who killed the squirrel. The brutal seizure and euthanasia of a pet squirrel by New York state officials, and the embrace by Harris of the turncoat Republican daughter of the architect of the Iraq war are really two sides of the same coin: the authoritarian nature of the modern Democratic Party and its Deep State allies. First to P’nut. The cute pet squirrel was orphaned when his mother was hit by a car seven years ago ...
