You often hear leftists rant on about the “separation of church and state,” with the goal being the separation of America’s Judeo-Christian faith heritage from itself. There can be no doubt that faith heritage played an integral part in the founding of our Constitutional Republic. What Thomas Jefferson really meant when he wrote that letter to the Danbury Baptist Convention of Connecticut was to calm any concerns that the Baptists had that the Presbyterians would be the official “religion” of America. Jefferson knew very well of the lesson from England of King Henry VIII. Who, when denied a divorce by the Catholic Church, created his very own religion and persecuted those who did not worship him as both Head of State and Head of Church. That even included his most trusted advisor, Thomas More, who was beheaded.

Yea, without a doubt, this is the topic de jour, perhaps for the week. In the waning days of the Biden administration, Joe Biden went against his very own words and pardoned his son, Hunter. How many times did we have to hear Biden and his White House mouthpiece, Karinne Jean-Pierre, state that “no one is above the law?” Well, that is true unless you are aligned with the progressive socialist left. And what is even more disconcerting is the comprehensive nature of this pardon…it covers anything over the past 10 years. And to witness Joe Biden doing this and then hopping on a plane to Angola.

West: Are we the champions?

Greetings, y’all, I am still on cloud nine after my alma mater, the Tennessee Volunteers, won the College World Series and completed a record-setting 60-win season. It has been a while since we had a national championship on Rocky Top. I remember when the Vols won the first BCS college football championship against Florida State in Tempe, Arizona. I was stationed at Ft. Bragg (yeah, that’s what it is) and ran out into a cold North Carolina evening to scream. The topic of this missive is a play on the words from the song by the rock band Queen, “We Are the Champions.” We all know the words to that song and the refrain.
