Running on the American Dream: Inside Joshi’s Senate Campaign

By Shaina Cole | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice Dr. Janak Joshi is back on the campaign trail — this time seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. The physician and former state legislator is entering Colorado’s caucus process, which begins March 3, ahead of district and state assemblies and the June primary. When asked why he entered the race, his answer centered less on political ambition and more on concern — about affordability, opportunity and what kind of country future generations will inherit. “I am running for US Senate because we are seeing that the Democrats, and particularly the liberals, haven't done much in the last five years to help in any way to Colorado and as a country.” He spoke about rising costs, businesses closing and ...

Rasmussen poll reveals why so many young voters are turning radical

By Brian Joondeph | Commentary, Rasmussen Reports Rasmussen Report’s new survey of voters under 40 paints a stark picture. Most believe the economy is unfair to them, and a majority would even support a law to confiscate Americans’ “excess wealth” (second homes, luxury cars, boats) to help young people buy a first home. Fifty-five percent endorse that idea, but just 38% oppose it. Only 29% of individuals under 40 are homeowners, and many feel “stuck,” lonely, or in crisis.  Why the sudden shift? Start with COVID’s totalitarian backlash. Youth mental health was declining before 2020, but the pandemic, especially school closures and extended isolation, made it worse. CDC’s latest Youth Risk Behavior data show four in ten high school students reported persistent...

Donald Trump: My plan to Make America Affordable Again, and bring back the American Dream

By Donald J. Trump, Commentary | Newsweek For years, Americans have watched as our country has been stripped of our jobs and stripped of our wealth. We've watched our companies get sold off to foreign countries. But with my plan for the American economy, this will stop immediately. When I am president, we will begin to take other countries' jobs and factories, bringing businesses and trillions of dollars back to the United States. Under my plan, American workers will no longer be worried about losing their jobs to foreign nations. Instead, foreign nations will be worried about losing their jobs to Americans. German car companies can become American car companies. We can beat China in electronic production. Manufacturers that have left us will come sprinting back to our shores. Her...

Workers on Labor Day say inflation ‘erasing’ American dream, snuffing out hard work

By Paul Bedard | Washington Examiner People are depressed about the economy going into Labor Day and the final election push, believing that inflation under the Biden-Harris administration has erased their dreams. In a couple of new surveys, respondents said that the dream of buying a house has been snuffed out by rising prices and that most of their daily hard work has been eaten away by inflation. A WalletHub survey provided to Secrets on Wednesday said, “74% of people think inflation is erasing their hard work.” While most believe that they are doing better than Labor Day 2023, they apparently also feel that they are moving backward and working harder.
