The disgraced New Jersey Democrat surrendered at a federal prison in Pennsylvania on Tuesday to begin his 11-year sentence for a corrupt scheme that earned him the moniker “Gold Bar Bob.” Menendez, 71, arrived at FCI Schuykill — a two-and-a-half-hour drive from his Englewood Cliffs home — at around 9 a.m., following his conviction for selling his powerful Senate post to enrich himself with gold bars, cash, and other bribes.
