Suspect arrested after burning Charlie Kirk tribute in Northern Colorado

By Jennifer McRae | CBS News Police in Northern Colorado have arrested a suspect accused of burning a tribute to Charlie Kirk after Kirk's killing last week. Loveland police and fire officials investigated it as arson, according to the Loveland Police Department.  Police said the memorial was burned just before midnight on Saturday in the 200 block of East 23rd Street. A cloth sign draped over a resident's fence on that street read "RIP Charlie Kirk, we stand with you." In addition to the sign being burned, a rock was thrown through the rear windshield of a vehicle parked at the home, Loveland police said. By Heather Willard | KDVR FOX31 DENVER (KDVR) — More details are emerging about how a 16-year-old student carried out a shooting last Wednesday at Evergreen High School, leaving two other students with critical injuries and killing himself. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that the first deputy was dispatched to the school at 12:24 p.m., “shortly after calls began to flood 911.” The agency said deputies arrived at the high school within two and a half minutes, and that during that time, the 16-year-old shooter had fired multiple rounds inside of Evergreen High School and injured a student. “While deputies responded quickly, the actions taken by teachers, staff, and students inside the school undoubtedly saved lives,” the sheriff’s office said. “They relied on th...

Many gathered at familiar places along the town’s main street to show each other support. “Some people might say there’s not a safe place to live in America,” Kevin Shepard told FOX31. Chief: Aurora suspect dropped weapon but advanced aggressively before fatal police shooting

By Vicente Arenas | Fox 31 AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) –  New photos of a deadly officer-involved shooting over the Labor Day weekend were released by the Aurora Police Department on Tuesday. The photos were taken by an officer’s body camera during the shooting that left a 37-year-old man dead around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police Chief Todd Chamberlain said an officer who was running radar as part of a DUI enforcement program attempted to stop the driver. The suspect, according to the chief, did not immediately stop but instead kept going and crashed into two cars.
