Antisemitic Threats Force Early Closure Of Jewish Center In Denver

DENVER – JEWISHcolorado and Staenberg-Loup Jewish Center closed early Tuesday and will remain closed through Wednesday after receiving “repeated antisemitic and threatening phone calls,” according to the Jewish Community Relations Council. A digital message about the early closure went out to the community and Denver7 followed up with JEWISHcolorado, which said the calls, from an unidentified caller, began around 3 p.m. Tuesday. (KDVR) — Video of an officer-involved shooting was taken by someone nearby a traffic stop at the intersection of Interstate 225 and 6th Street in Aurora, Saturday night.   Rajon Belt, 37, is seen interacting with a police officer after getting out of a car that he allegedly crashed into two other vehicles during a DUI enforcement stop. “I noticed that it was a lot of chaos there because there was a wrecked car and there was some carnage in the road, and I also noticed that this suspect was continuously aggressive,” former Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said. However, 23rd Judicial District DA George Brauchler said the majority of people committing crimes in Douglas County are from other counties. The DA showed a dramatic video of Castle Rock police trying to capture a man driving a stolen car. The man behind the wheel can be seen trying to get away from officers by driving the vehicle back and forth, as it was pinned between two other cars.
