Parks and Recreation reported via Facebook there were multiple instances of vandalism, littering, and damage at City Park and the Brick and Tile park. La Junta Fire Department Chief Brad Davidson told FOX21 News the damages were discovered Monday morning, Sept. 16. Davidson said they believe the person responsible started at La Junta City Park, where they broke the valve off a sprinkler valve box, causing extensive flooding of the park. On Aug. 30, Greeley School Resource Officers were made aware of an alleged assault between an adult teacher and a 6-year-old student at Maplewood Elementary, located at 1201 21st Ave. According to Greeley police, they were notified of the alleged assault by Greeley-Evans School District 6 administrators and security. Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Additional charges are expected. By Morgan Whitle and  Heather Willard | KDVR Broomfield police took a seriously injured suspect into custody following what they called an active shooting at an apartment complex that led to a female victim’s death. At 6:34 a.m. Thursday, the Broomfield Police Department said officers were called to a disturbance at the Arista Flats apartments at 8200 Arista Place, east of Wadsworth Parkway near the former 1stBank Center. According to Rachel Haslett with Broomfield police, when officers got to the unit, they heard a man making threats and then gunshots.
