Mamás de DPS filed a complaint in Denver District Court on Tuesday, accusing district officials of violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. Jared Polis’ request to dismiss the case against him in state court alleging his attempt to comply with a subpoena from Immigration and Customs Enforcement breaks state law. Denver District Judge A. Bruce Jones on Wednesday rejected Polis’ motion to dismiss the case originally brought by former state labor department employee Scott Moss. Six cities sue Colorado over zoning and parking laws as state stays silent

Jared Polis, the Department of Local Affairs and its executive director, Maria De Cambra. The case targets two 2024 laws—HB 24-1313 and HB 24-1304—that, according to the cities, trample Colorado’s constitutional guarantee of Home Rule. As President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act temporarily cuts federal taxes on overtime pay, some Colorado Republicans are seeking to force the state to follow suit. The conservative advocacy group Advance Colorado filed a lawsuit on Thursday, July 24, challenging a new law that will continue taxing overtime pay at the state level, regardless of federal changes. The lawsuit was filed in Denver District Court against Governor Jared Polis and the head of Colorado’s tax agency.
