Some of the most senior officials in the federal justice agencies are preparing for potential prosecution during the upcoming Trump administration. According to NBC News, after Trump's victory over Harris, some long-time and senior-level staff at the DOJ as well as the FBI are nervous that Trump appointments such as Gaetz at the DOJ could go after them legally. The selection of Gaetz has specifically made them nervous about possible cases against them, per the outlet. Forbes reported the handwritten missive is also allegedly an admission that his attempt to do so had failed.
