Trump campaign files FEC complaint to block Biden’s $91M war chest from going to Harris

By Hailey Gomez  | The Daily Signal Former President Donald Trump’s campaign filed a Federal Election Commission complaint Tuesday alleging President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are in violation of campaign finance laws after transferring $91.5 million to Harris’ presidential campaign. The complaint, which was first reported by The New York Times, was filed by Trump’s campaign’s general counsel, David Warrington, and comes after Harris announced her confirmation of delegates to be the Democrat’s new presumptive presidential nominee. “Kamala Harris is seeking to perpetrate a $91.5 million heist of Joe Biden’s leftover campaign cash—a brazen money grab that would constitute the single largest excessive contribution and biggest violat...

Trump asking for ‘equal time’ on air during Biden’s Oval Office ‘campaign commercial’

By Annabella Rosciglione | Washington Examiner As President Joe Biden gives an Oval Office address to the nation Wednesday, former President Donald Trump is asking ABC, NBC, and CBS to give him equal airtime.  In a letter obtained by the New York Times, Trump’s campaign sent a letter to the three networks demanding he be given equal airtime as the campaign believes the speech will be used as a campaign event. Earlier this week, Biden announced he would address the nation from the White House about his exit from the presidential race and how he plans to tackle the remaining months of his presidency. “It appears that President Biden’s speech will not be a bona fide news event, but rather, a prime-time campaign commercial,” Trump campaign general counsel Davi...

Trump says he will ‘absolutely’ debate Kamala Harris, says he would do ‘more than one’

By HENRY RODGERS | The Daily Caller Former President Donald Trump said he would “absolutely” debate Vice President Kamala Harris, even adding that he would do more than one, while on a press call Tuesday. On a call with reporters, Trump was asked about debating Harris since Biden dropped out of the race, to which Trump said he was not thrilled with ABC News but that he wants to debate Harris, and believes it is important to do so. Harris, who’s running based on a party insider vote with no primary voter approval, said Monday she had secured enough verbal commitments from DNC delegates to clinch her party’s nomination. Three hundred California delegates voted to back Harris on Monday night — all during a private Zoom call. “Absolutely. I’d want to. I think it’s important. I’m not t...

Swearer: Why the 2nd Amendment is more crucial than ever after attempt to kill Trump

By Amy Swearer | The Daily Signal A 20-year-old man with a rifle, perched atop a nearby roof, fired several rounds July 13 at Donald Trump as the former president spoke at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, killing one attendee and wounding at least two others. As we know now, one round nicked Trump’s right ear and he avoided a serious wound or death with a fortuitous head turn that moved him out of the bullet’s path at the last second. Almost immediately, some gun control activists saw the attempted assassination as an opportunity to call for their wish list of more restrictions on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Talk about missing the point. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE DAILY SIGNAL Editor's note: Opinions expressed...

Trump promised to end ‘inflation nightmare’ in RNC speech. Here’s his plan.

By Megan Henney | Fox Business Former President Donald Trump vowed to end the ongoing inflation crisis during his keynote speech at the Republican National Convention, promising that he would work to bring high prices down if he wins the November election. "We’ve had the worst inflation we’ve ever had under this person," Trump said in the Thursday night speech, referring to President Biden. "Inflation has been a killer for our country. No matter what you’re making, it doesn’t matter because inflation is eating you alive." The Republican nominee laid out several proposals that he said would reduce inflation or provide relief from steep prices, including eliminating taxes on tips, raising tariffs on other countries and drilling for more oil in the U.S. Although inflatio...

Zuckerberg: Donald Trump’s reaction to being shot ‘most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life’

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Elon Musk is not the only social media mogul digging former President Donald Trump these days. During a Thursday interview with the New York Times, the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, detailed his reaction to the attempted assassination of Mr. Trump at his final campaign rally, before accepting the Republican Party's nomination for President. He described Mr. Trump as a "badass" for his immediate response to the shooting. A kill shot missed its mark when Mr. Trump turned his head slightly right before impact and his right ear was grazed by the bullet. “Seeing Donald Trump get up after getting shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life,” Zuckerberg to...

Saying their names: Families of U.S. troops killed in Kabul airport bombing criticize Biden, praise Trump

By Jonathan J. Cooper, Farnoush Amiri, Matthew Lee and Steve Peoples | Air Force Times Relatives of some of the 13 American service members killed during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan appeared on stage at the Republican National Convention Wednesday in an emotional moment that revived one of the low points of President Joe Biden’s presidency. Many of the Gold Star families have criticized Biden for never publicly naming their loved ones. On stage Wednesday, one of the family members named each of the 13 service members, and the crowd echoed back each name as it was read aloud. “Joe Biden has refused to recognize their sacrifice,” Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, told the crowd. “Donald Trump knew all of our children’s names. He knew all of t...

Who do they, as border residents, trust to protect them from drug cartels? Donald Trump

By Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell  | The Daily Signal Jim and Sue Chilton own a ranch in Arizona on the U.S.-Mexico border. Every time Jim leaves the house, Sue fears he won’t come back alive, she said Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. “Our house has been broken into twice,” Sue Chilton told convention delegates. “A Border Patrol agent was shot five times by drugs smugglers on our ranch. The cartel drug smugglers are crossing our nation’s border every day. They are bringing lethal drugs into our country.” The Chiltons’ security cameras have spotted more than 3,500 drug traffickers and others in camouflage marching through their ranch, according to Jim Chilton, a fifth-generation rancher in Arivaca. “These are not asyl...

Local police told Secret Service they didn’t have manpower to secure building used by Trump’s would-be assassin

By ARIANNA VILLARREAL | The Federalist Law enforcement in Butler County, Pennsylvania, warned the U.S. Secret Service in advance of former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally last weekend that they did not have the manpower to secure the building used by Trump’s would-be assassin.  Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said the Secret Service was informed that the police “did not have manpower to assist with securing that building,” according to a report by The Washington Post. A Secret Service official, who spoke to the Post on the condition of anonymity, confirmed Goldinger’s statement. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has claimed the agency relied on local law enforcement to secure the rally’s surrounding area, which included the Agr In...

Sloan: Here’s my first thoughts on the assassination attempt

By Kelly Sloan | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Sometimes history, like it is said of American football, is a game of inches. An inch or so to the right, and the bullet that grazed former President Doanld Trump’s ear on Saturday would have most likely killed him. As stunned and horrified as Americans were upon hearing of the attempted assassination, it would be a much graver situation for the country had the assassin’s bullet killed the former President, and current candidate for the same office, instead of a volunteer firefighter who died shielding his family while attending a political rally in support of the candidate he preferred.  It is somewhat naturally incumbent upon the polemicist to comment on historical events of such magnitude, as analysis is hungrily sought for. But...
